Wonderful two weeks at your beautiful hotel. The accommodation, service and location are all exceptional.
The many moods of Lake Whakatipu kept us occupied for hours.
We hope to return soon!
I thought is was a fantastic hotel and room in the perfect location.
The view from our room was amazing. The room was beautiful and loved all the features especially the towel warmer. I would come back and stay here if I were to ever to visit queenstown again from the USA.

I must say that our stay at The Rees was really great! In fact, it's the best stay we had in NZ (very much like home)
- Introduction to the apartment by the receptionist
- Ample parking
- Clean and spacious apartment
- Fantastic kitchen + washer/dryer (even the kitchen bin impressed us lol)
- Big balcony with nice scenic view
- Strong water pressure at shower
- Electric/heated towel rack (this is awesome)
- Breakfast buffet spread is nice
To be improved (not a deal breaker)
- Provide more clothes hangers?
- Provide door stoppers for the rooms as the door tends to close by itself.
Will definitely recommend The Rees to friends or even come back for another stay ourselves the next time we visit Queenstown!

The Rees - amazing! We LOVED our stay here! It was so luxurious, clean, beautiful spot. The staff were AMAZING they were all so lovely and went out of their way to help us at any opportunity. They had a free shuttle service to and from town which we utilised also.
While we were at the Rees they helped us to book a heli tour with Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters. It was excellent! We absolutely loved this tour. It was great to get up into the snow and to see Queenstown from another angle!

It has nearly been a month since we stayed at the Rees Hotel.
I wanted to say thank you. It was nice to be greeted by you when we arrived.
The room was fabulous, the surround was great, the shuttle brilliant and the staff awesome.
If I were to visit Queenstown again, The Rees would be my choice. I have bragged about our stay.
One thing that I would mention was the breakfast music, a little more classical perhaps. The speaker, which was placed on the mantel piece for our last breakfast was far better than on top of the fridge in that corner sitting area. We liked that spot in the corner. The speaker for the three days happened to be above our heads and what was coming out of it was not pleasing....
As said in the beginning, a picturesque room, I was so content just to sit and look out. The room was perfect size and warmth.

We LOVED our time at The Rees. What a beautiful hotel in a beautiful area. It was prefect for our family vacation. We have stayed in lots of hotels over the years and yours ranks at the top. THANK YOU!
I only have one very minor suggestion. The keycard folder has the schedule for the town shuttle and the map does as well, but it would be helpful to have your phone number on those documents. We had to call from town to request a shuttle and while I obviously found the number online, having it at our fingertips would have been helpful. But again, that is minor.

I recently stayed at your hotel a couple of days ago, and I just wanted to drop a quick email to say how much I enjoyed my stay and the amenities provided.
I was wondering if you could let me know the brand of the haircare products you use. I've been on the lookout for haircare items that suit me perfectly, and your shampoo and conditioner were just spot on！
I have to say, we enjoyed our short 4-night stay a lot in your hotel. I love the historical aspect within the reception and waiting area, the book on Rees was interesting and the photos/paintings are nice touches. The view from our room was just awesome. The room itself had everything we needed and was very comfortable.
We had a couple of issues whilst in the hotel, the first day we arrived the Wifi didn't work, and 'Jimmy' and a maintenance guy tried to resolve it to no avail, however, the next day the IT guy resolved the issue.
We also had a problem with our gas fire where it would come on and then turn off after a few seconds, Jimmy came and resolved it that night but the same thing happened the next day, I reported the problem and the maintenance guy fixed it that day whilst we were out on a trip.
I understand in life that things happen, and nothing is perfect, but it is what is done to resolve the issues that make a difference your team and particularly 'Jimmy' were very helpful and didn't give up until the issue was resolved, that is good customer service.
The tour desk guy was also very helpful to arrange our trips, Jimmy also assisted us one evening when the tour desk was busy.
All of the shuttle bus staff were friendly and helpful, chatty, especially a young guy from the Netherlands, I forgot his name.
The housekeeping staff did their jobs well, rooms were cleaned well.
Note- The vending machine on the level 3 car park area didn't work and ate some of our money, but one of your reception staff handled it quickly and gave us back the lost coins and said he would report the issue, the next day I saw someone attending to it, which was great.
We will definitely recommend your hotel to others and we will definitely book up again ourselves for another stay at some point in the future.

I stayed at The Rees Hotel in Queenstown on holiday recently, and I can’t say enough great things about it! I did lots of research when selecting my Queenstown hotel, and The Rees Hotel did not disappoint!
The rooms are very spacious and have wonderful views of the lake. Even the non-lake view room I booked still had a beautiful partial view of the lake.
The bathroom was large and clean, and the room was designed to give scenic views from all angles.
The food at the restaurant was wonderful. My cheese plate was my most favorite meal all trip!
And the service was amazing. The employees were friendly, kind, and actually went way out of their way to make my stay as good as possible.
The walking path into town was convenient and beautiful as well.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Well done Rees!!

I would like to drop a note to say that my family and I had a most enjoyable and memorable stay at The Rees earlier this week. Our room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The lake view was breathtaking and the fireplace made our room so toasty and inviting. Four nights flew by and we already can’t wait to come back to Queenstown and The Rees!
Special shoutout to service staff Kathryn at the hotel restaurant. We see her almost every morning during our stay and she has the sweetest smiles and it’s just lovely to start our day seeing her. Also, she has a great memory and remembered our room number and coffee and egg preferences since the first morning. What a gem!
The other staff at the restaurant, Concierge (including Tai who checked us in), hotel shuttle bus whom we had the pleasure of meeting, all were professional, friendly and a pure delight! Overall, this hotel is gold star and we will definitely come back to stay here when we visit Queenstown again.

Regarding our recent stay at your hotel in room 6011, we thought the view was fantastic and the size of the apartment was good. But we also have the following comments:-
1. The bed in the master bedroom is way too soft. No more support at all.
2. The heating in bedroom 2 didn't work
3. And when we requested one more quilt from housekeeping, they kept bringing us the bed cover until the 3rd time they got it right.
The above shouldn't happen in a 5 star hotel.
Thanks for hosting us at the Rees over the weekend. The room was perfect.

The hotel was comfortable and the staff were all very helpful and pleasant. I enjoyed the restaurant food. The only suggestion I have is that you add some type of shelving to the hallway bathroom. I had to move a chair into the room so that I would have a place to put my toiletries.

The only feedback is regarding limited dietary choices in the restaurant. Being gluten and dairy free we were a bit disappointed in the choices available.
When the restaurant was booked out we looked at room service, however there was nothing available so we were forced to eat out and after a long day touring we preferred not to.
The coffees in the reception area were excellent and the staff very accommodating.
We will need to consider a room with kitchen facilities in the future, however when on holiday we prefer not to cook.
Overall though we were happy with our stay.

Our stay was perfect.
You were all kind and accommodating especially with my mother who was in a wheelchair - she had never been out of Australia, so this trip is very special
Our own tour company cancelled our scenic flight due to bad weather - your amazing concierge worked out the smaller planes had the weather impact but by moving us to a slightly bigger plane we still got our flight - it was spectacular (perhaps Lauren)
And another concierge sorted us on to a jet boat cruise picked up from the jetty and booked it with and hours’ notice (perhaps raj)
The coffee at reception was just awesome and convenient and we used our chunky cups as keep sakes. You are all so sustainably minded here.
We didn’t need a full clean every day, but emptying bins was needed especially for my mums personal items. Nothing was ever a problem even found us a shower chair.
What I noticed most was a team spirit and willingness to work together

Thank you! We had a wonderful stay and appreciated everything The Rees was able to do to accommodate us during our stay.
The only feedback I would provide is to update/improve the mattresses. Our room had a traditional spring mattress and while serviceable, it could have been better. I think most people use a foam mattress now which provides slightly more support and doesn't transmit vibrations from others moving as easily as a traditional spring mattress.

My wife and I, along with our friend Colin Campbell, stayed with you from the 5th to the 9th. We would just like to say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Your hotel is amazing, but your team are your main asset. We were exceptionally well looked after, and nothing was too much trouble. Special mention should be made in the case of Eveline, Jack, Fuka, Kathryn and Liffey. We have stayed at some of the best hotels in the world but have rarely been so well looked after.
The true star was Kathryn, my wife Amy, has complex dietary requirements and nobody has ever taken more care than Kathryn to endure they were met. She made Amy feel at ease and she was able to relax. She recommended some other restaurants in town which allowed Amy to have fish and chips (something she hasn’t been able to have for years). She is the gold standard for looking after people with food allergies and if we may be so bold, she should be training your other staff on the topic.

Good morning. I would like to commend the customer service offered by a Restaurant server Kathryn.
Kathryn was pleasant amicable and in view of customer service took the initiative and excelled.
Service received was wonderful and well received with regards to a Hot chocolate that I had ordered. This might jog her memory.
Simply put Kathryn is an asset for Rees Hotel.
Please change the coffee offered during breakfast service I found on both occasions for it to be tasteless and filtered coffee went out years ago.
Buffet price did not reflect the charge at all and offerings were substandard.
The only good thing about buffet breakfast offered was the service.
My wife and I recently stayed at The Rees on the above mentioned dates and were most impressed. All the staff were friendly, accommodating and professional in all their dealings with us. Our room (4122) was clean, and serviced promptly when we left. In short we had no complaints and thank you for making our stay so memorable.
On another matter, I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness of the shower glass in the bathroom (call me a neatness freak) and I wonder if you could provide me with any tips as to how housekeeping manages to maintain this quality.

We appreciated the complimentary laundry service also. We had one disappointment – we missed an amazing display of the aurora (Southern Lights) while we were there…it would be great if the hotel would alert guests when strong favorable conditions are occurring with a likely showing. We went to bed without any idea! (though I know it isn’t totally predictable). We had a great time there – thank you for the hospitality.

Our stay was fantastic. Every aspect of the hotel is excellent including your concierge service in the lead up to our holiday. The only minor thing was that we got booked on the wrong jet boat trip but we did enjoy the kjet.
The shuttles back from town to the hotel are a little too infrequent at one an hour too.
But overall 9/10 for sure and would highly recommend you.

We had a lovely stay with you.
We were a bit bothered that the HVAC system in our unit was not functioning nor was the exhaust fan over the stove. Everything else in the unit seemed to be working.
We thought you could offer more shuttle runs to and from town. Once an hour does not seem adequate especially when the hotel is near capacity.
Special shout out to Eveline and Lauren, both of whom were extremely helpful during our stay.

We picked the Rees for its luxury star rating and thought it would be well appointed and have great staff, we let you know well in advance of our requirements for massages to make it a special weekend as we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, I have to say we were disappointed to find an email the day of arrival to ask did we still want massages as nothing was organised when all previous communications were you were sorting. No apologies or otherwise for not being organised or acknowledgement of our special circumstances.
We utilised the onsite restaurant for dinner and breakfast and although we enjoyed our dinner and the service was lovely it was not backed up in the morning with items cold in the full buffet and poached eggs overcooked.
Your setting is stunning the rooms clean and well decorated we loved our view from the room.
These are only small criticisms to assist ib reviewing your service and facilities.

As you are aware Hawkes Bay has had significant flood damage. Our school alone has had 4 staff members and some students who have lost their homes and all of their possessions.
It is terrible to see the devastation on the TV but these families have lived through it and are coming to terms with their loss. We are lucky that so far our families have had no loss of life.
I am hoping that the rest of the term brings some normality to our staff and students.

We really enjoyed our recent 3-night stay at the Rees. The view from our room was fantastic and we took advantage of it by ordering a dinner and a breakfast for in-room delivery, both of which were excellent! Your staff were super friendly, responsive and accommodating, We enjoyed the bountiful buffet breakfasts in your beautiful dining room, and really appreciated the fact that the hotel was well away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Queenstown but that a free shuttle was available to get us into town for dining, shopping, and sightseeing. We very much appreciated being able to hire bicycles on-site, but the one less-than-perfect thing we found was that the bike seats were hard and one of the bikes had a front brake that vibrated while riding, making a sound like an alien space ship landing. Although this was handy for alerting pedestrians (they universally turned their heads when we came up behind them!), it was a bit annoying to have to apply the brake to stop the noise and gave us the impression that the bikes could have been maintained a little better. However, this was a minor issue compared to the convenience of being able to rent the bikes right from the hotel.
We wrote a great review of our stay at the Rees for Agoda, the travel website we booked through, so hopefully others can know what a wonderful place the Rees is to stay. We hope to stay there again when we return to Queenstown!

I stayed in room 4102, the room was really nice and well looked after, the receptionist staff were all friendly, food was lovely and amazing, the front reception staff was really talkative and polite which I loved
I had certain requirements needing extra toiletries and towels, the staff that was cleaning the room were really prompt (i asked them while they were cleaning other rooms with trollies), and a polite young man called Dushal (hope I'm spelling it right), helped me top up the room and answered the questions about the amenities and soaps, etc. He really made me feel welcome.
So did all the staff that worked at the Rees, will be coming back for sure.

We had a pleasant time and enjoyed the hired bikes .
Only major criticism is that the dining room is clearly too small and could not cope with the number of guests arriving for breakfast .
On each occasion we attended we were asked to return at a later time or accept a “take out “ , and when we did sit down the the place appeared disorganised, crowded and uncomfortable.This was not the fault of the staff who were clearly doing their best under very difficult conditions.
We found the breakfast experience unacceptable for a high class hotel .

My brothers, my partner and I stayed at The Rees Hotel from Feb 28 – Mar 4.
We loved the property; it was beautiful. The rooms were well equipped and lovely. The breakfast was lovely.
I have two comments for further improvement.
• While I understand that personnel was limited, we checked in late on the first evening and
wanted to have dinner at The Rees. The dining room was full, so our only option
was room service. Upon check-in, we didn’t have an ipad in our room, so we used our brothers’ ipad
to order food. The delay was substantial. It took approximately one hour to get our food. When we tried
to dial “2” to check up on our order, it was not working, so we dialed “0” to get connected.
• The shuttles into town were nice, but often full. Little flexibility to easily return earlier if we were in
town and wanted to get back to the hotel. Took a great deal of planning and estimating which was somewhat stressful.
We truly enjoyed our time in NZ and Queenstown.

Hello - thank you for your email. Here is some of my feedback:
* The front desk people were so helpful and friendly. There was always someone there, and they were eager to help.
* The concierge
was, when we wanted to connect with them, either gone from his desk or helping other individuals. The concierge should be trained to at least look at those waiting in line, smile, acknowledge them and say something like, “I will be with you shortly or would you like to leave your phone number for a call back?” It was disappointing to just stand there, wait and then eventually leave, feeling unwelcome/unnoticed.
* The breakfast was nice, but the seating arrangement for it was not. For our days there, there was a 6-person table right next to the fruit buffet. That made it difficult to get food from the buffet without being right next to the others who were dining. The fruit compote was not a good substitute for cut, fresh fruit, which we had at all of our other hotel breakfasts. The made to order eggs were great! The toasters need to be replaced and moved. When I tried to make toast one morning another guest told me the other way that it would work is to plug, then unplug it. All while reaching over the pastries! A simple re-arrangement of 2 new toasters would take care of this.
* Complimentary waters in the suites would have been nice. The French press coffee was great!
* Our room was immaculate and housekeeping accommodated our schedules very well. The rooms in general were spacious, but the closets were not.
* The shuttle was easy to use and much appreciated.
* A big issue for us, and I know that this can’t be fixed, was that our view of the beautiful lake was completely obstructed by the opaque squares placed on the balcony walls. When seated, you can’t see the lake at all. I noticed that some of the balconies have these squares, while others do not. Since we were eager to sip coffee and enjoy the view of the lake, that was a big disappointment.
* The safe is appreciated, but it was placed at a level so high that I literally could not see what we put inside of it.
So, that’s my feedback. We DID enjoy our stay at the Rees!

Thanks for the email. We enjoyed our trip to Queenstown and really enjoyed our stay at the Rees. The room was great and we felt very comfortable. The Concierge, Lauren and Fane (misspelling it) were great and helpful. Everybody was very nice and always willing to help. On our next visit we will definitely stay at the Rees.
Wanted to provide feedback on room service not as a complaint but if it helps you make any positive changes/improvements. We rented an executive suite which had a kitchen but on the vacation we did not want to cook or plunge our own coffee etc. We ordered room service multiple times but the food service could have been better in some small ways. Few examples would have loved to have coffee in a mug/pot rather than to go cups which make it cold and honestly defeats the purpose of coffee in that beautiful room. We asked for it but were told no. The eggs were runny most of the time ( sent back once to reheat since it was very runny) even though we asked for well cooked, milk was cold even though we asked for hot. We travel a lot, these are small little things and not a big deal but small changes can make a big difference.
Overall again we loved staying at the Rees and felt very comfortable with our kids who enjoyed a lot also. We would definitely be staying at the hotel in our future visits to Queenstown. Thanks.

4 years ago, I fell over at home in our bathroom and broke my ankle, so I am now very careful in bathrooms when away from home. The shower in our room appeared to require some form of screen, or larger curtain, as after use the area around the toilet was very wet. I found myself drying the floor on a regular basis!

I accidentally left my wife’s small elastic floral bag behind in our room. Any chance it was found by the cleaners? Would it be possible to mail it back to us in Singapore?
Firstly we loved your hotel and the room, we found all the staff from the front desk , to the cleaners and bar staff friendly and courteous.
The shuttle was fantastic, particularly with the building and parking issues in Queenstown. All the drivers were friendly and helpful. Booking was simple and very guest friendly.
We had dinner on our last night in your restaurant which was not up to the standard you would wish. We arrived Just after 8pm, we had finished our first course by 8:20pm but alas waited 40-50 minutes for our main course! At that point I counted only 6-8 other guests in the dining room .
The main course was not great to be honest , venison was served med/rare not medium and overall the quality of the food was only just adequate - certainly not fine dining. I raised the long wait with the Staff who were polite and explained how busy the chef was with bar snacks and room service meals !
Certainly far from a 5 star dining experience.
Perhaps more catering staff are needed ?

Thanks for your email. My feedback is that all staff was very helpful. The restaurant food was good, but lacks options. The apartment we stay had a lovely view, but it was badly maintained. Walls were scratched, carpet looked very dated and dusty and the exterior wall on the deck was all covered in mould. The sliding window joinery has not been cleaned for a long time and it was hard to open and close. For the prices we paid, we definitely expected more luxury and higher class accommodation.

We (2 adults & 2 children) stayed at The Rees for 8 nights in December 2022. From the moment we arrived, the staff were fantastic. They were exceedingly helpful & friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. The view from the balcony was magnificent!
We dined at the restaurant twice - fantastic quality of food and, I felt, good value for money. The breakfast buffet was lovely - great quality and variety of food.
The shuttle bus service into town was a God-send. We utilised this service on a number of occasions, both during the day and in the evenings, and it made life so much more convenient and stress-free, rather than having to drive & park in town.
The location of the Rees is excellent - not so far from town that it was difficult to get there (even via a walk along the lake shore) but far out enough that it was not too crowded & busy.
We really enjoyed our stay at The Rees. We would definitely stay there again if (when!) we return to Queenstown, and would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends.

Firstly I would like to say a big “Thank You” for such a wonderful stay at the Rees Hotel we all had 16-20 December 2022.
To all of your The staff working the Front desk, your concierge drivers that shuttled people to and from the Queenstown CBD to your hotel and return, the breakfast staff and chefs.
Plus the Chefs and staff that work at True South. We had dinner 19 December and this was all truly wonderful dining experience.
It was a good way to start our NZ trip in Queenstown at your hotel.
The Apartment room we had was clean, tidy and very comfortable and great for 4 Adults.
Beds were comfortable and thank you to the staff the changed over a king to be 2 King Singles for our teenage kids. Much appreciated.
The breakfast options for either continental and or a Full breakfast were very good and adequate.
The Fine Dining at True South was fabulous and a bit “Thank You” to the staff that brought in a cake for my husbands Birthday on the 19th December, we were surprised and also delighted.
We will definitely be back again to stay at the Rees Hotel.

We stayed for 4 nights with our daughter and her husband. It was an excellent visit and happy to recommend.
I needed urgent dental treatment during the visit and Ruby (?) was excellent in finding me a good dentist who sorted the problem. She was great!
A small point to note, is that when having dinner in the restaurant one evening, one of us wanted a bit more parmesan cheese on his pasta, and was told there would be an additional charge! This really is unacceptable.

Hi Abdon and thanks for the opportunity to give you feedback on our recent stay.
Firstly, your staff were all well trained, attentive and friendly. Considering the pressure they are no doubt under as you struggle to find sufficient staff, I believe you should be congratulated.
Car parking was easy.
Breakfast was difficult. I’m sure you know that your breakfast area is very small and moving 'to and fro' to the buffet was awkward.
The dinner we had in your restaurant on the Saturday night was simply outstanding - we feel it was the best meal we have had in NZ since returning from living in Singapore 4 years ago. My congratulations to the chef!
We liked the room layout, but some comments for your consideration are:
• The mattress was pretty average considering the premium positioning of the hotel. It felt ‘cheap’
• Surprising there was no free water given at ‘room turndown’ although we did like the chocolates
• The TV was quite small
• The bathroom was great but (like many many hotels) the lighting for my wife to use makeup was poor - she actually carries around a small ‘lighted’ mirror to suction cup to the bathroom mirror. This is something you could consider to add to your bathrooms
• The shower soap bottle has a plunger to dispense the soap - this was very hard to push down and will eventually result in damage to the shelf. Perhaps ours was faulty but you could check
• It took us a while to find the switch for the bathroom blind (it’s hidden behind the night light) - perhaps include in the room familiarisation SOP

The apartment (and view) was excellent. Plentiful of crockery, pots etc. Our air-con was not working one day but was immediately fixed the following day.
I did notice that there was dishwashing liquid in our apartment but then removed during our last night’s stay.
The only negative thing I would say is that during peak times (especially 5-9pm), add extra shuttle buses to/from the city. We had to get an Uber to return to the hotel.

We did have a wonderful stay at the Rees. Our check in agent was kind and knowledgeable. Our room was clean and very nice and the view was amazing.
Our breakfasts, with the scenery, were truly unforgettable. The food was so fresh and delicious and I particularly enjoyed the mushrooms and the stewed plums. Please tell the chef.
The one and only thing I found troubling was the shuttle. We took the shuttle three times and appreciated the service. It was clean and both of the drivers we had drove carefully. That said, on both of our return shuttle trips there was an older man who had issues with balance. Neither driver helped him enter or leave the shuttle and he clearly needed help. As the gentleman was seated closest to the side door, other passengers, were able to help him; it needed to be the driver. In both cases, the drivers sat firmly in the driver seat and acted like there wasn’t a problem. On one of the trips, the man actually took a stumble and fortunately did not hurt himself badly. Again, the driver seemed oblivious.
I was upset both times and definitely felt there was a lack of training and the drivers needed to be opening the door and helping guests off and on the shuttle. I hope this will be resolved before a guest is seriously injured.

We checked out of room 6161 this morning after a lovely stay. My daughter has lost her green / blue headphones and is wondering if she left them in the room. Was a great stay and location but some in room feedback
1. Shower stall location/plumbing was terrible. The shower water flooded out to pile around the toilet bowl and does not dry or flow away.
2. Location of toilet is directly outside shower doors which cant be used properly and its super wet
3. The aircon light is directly overhead the bed making the light shine brightly on sleeping party.
Recommend to look at a door sealant to stop the water splash or some way to allow water flow better.
For the aircon light, could consider a ledge otherwise not much choices there.
Overall still happy with our stay :) 4/5 stars!

Thank you for your email and I would like to give some feedback about our stay for 4 nights between Xmas and New Year.
Your staff are wonderful and I would like to compliment you all. They were all very friendly, professional and helpful and made us feel extremely welcome.
The apartment we stayed in was very nicely appointed, very comfortable and a good size for 2 couples. Also the house keeping team did an excellent job of servicing it discreetly.
The only negative comment i would like to make is the situation of the apartment we stayed in. I was disappointed our lounge and balcony view was mainly of driveway to the car parks and was not the beautiful uninterrupted lake views we had seen in the photographs and expected. Also Cars and rubbish trucks going up and down the driveway made it noisy when sitting outside and to access our apartment we had to walk through the car park.
Your facilities are great and we enjoyed the hospitality of your hotel but we definitely would not want to stay in apartment 4031 again.

Loved our stay at the Rees.
The one area where the hotel did not meet expectations was the room service. The range was not good and the quality was poor to the point of almost inedible – particularly the pizza.
A couple of minor improvement suggestions.
The Restaurant for dinner whilst good was a little limited in options I felt.
The breakfast in the restaurant was beautiful – a little more advice on being able to get eggs cooked any way you’d like would have been better on arrival or even a card on the table with instructions.
Staff were very friendly and helped make our stay one to remember for a long time.

Yet, every single employee we encountered was courteous, helpful and professional - from the front desk staff, to the restaurant or bar staff, to the concierge or the drivers, the whole team was a pleasure and terribly helpful since we are in a place that’s new to us. We loved it there!
We are now in Mr. Cook and aren’t happy with the hotel or its food. We wish we were still in Queenstown.

It was fantastic to stay at the Rees Hotel. In particular, we want to call out the friendly way in which everyone greeted us. Our arrival and the check in process was so simple and welcoming.
Please thank Henry, Edward, Ruby and Amelia (german female in the dining room on 13th Dec) who were just great through out our stay. Our wedding anniversary dinner on the 13th was made special with a lovely “congratulations” from the kitchen along with some sweets delivered to our room. So very thoughtful!!. We also made good use of the shuttle bus and the tips and suggestions on what to do or where to go were always excellent.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Rees. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly and helpful. Specifically, here are some comments/suggestions:
--when we checked in, we were told our room would be ready 'soon'. That did not help us in figuring out what to do or how long we had to wait. It would have been nice to have a time frame and maybe a free drink in the lobby while we waited. It ended up being about 45 minutes.
--there was a mix up about the length of our stay. This was not your fault, it was on our side. But you handled it very well. Thank you.
--the breakfast was great! Even custom orders were done well.
--I want to give special thanks to Kathryn (in the lobby and dining room). She made us feel very welcome, served us very well, and engaged with us about what we were doing, etc. PLEASE KEEP HER! She could run any operations it seemed.

Thank you for your email. My stay at the hotel was short, with just two nights, but certainly one of the most pleasant hotels I have stayed in, for many, many years. I was fortunate to "win" the accommodation as part of my winning trip to the Queenstown Marathon. As you can see from my signature, hospitality is what I have done for well over 55 years and have been fortunate to work in many parts of the world and at many different levels of service.
My AirNZ plane was some 90 minutes late and that did not help, but it was all wiped out when I arrived at the hotel. On arrival at the reception desk, I was greeted by Maria (A young Russian, hopefully spelling her name correctly). Who not only confirmed all my details, length of stay etc, but on giving me the "key", took me to my room. Once there she went through all the room details of how things worked and wished me a pleasant stay. Not something I had seen in NZ for a long time if at all.
I had forgotten that your Executive Chef was a friend of mine and thank him and the Management team for the "gifts". Unfortunately, I had to leave a couple of the "power drinks" as I was overweight, not me but the luggage. But the others were very useful in my marathon running.
I managed a burger in the lobby and breakfast on the Sunday and both meals where very flavoursome and apart from the "cooler" chips with the burger, the meals where hot and the breakfast arrangements covered all the clients, I think you would normally get at a hotel breakfast.
On leaving on Sunday, the receptionist was extremely pleasant and as I had only a few things on the account she read these out and I paid. Wishing me a safe trip home and I left.
I have worked in NZ for nearly 40 years and have seen our profession grow and fall, reinvent its self and since COVID of course struggle to not only keep staff but also to have staff that are dedicated to the standards that an establishment requires. The following comments are not a put down of what I saw, but observations of what I feel may not be the way the "team" would see themselves.
On arrival the hotel, there were two desks with two staff sitting at each table. In some hotels this can be seen as the "front desk". On arrival I went to a young man and explained who I was and that I was checking in. He politely said that the reception was over to his right, that is no problem, but although I am no more important than him and he is not my "servant" I thought he would have stood up to respond. On Saturday morning, I left the hotel in my running gear to get the bus to the start of the marathon, I saw a member of the night staff, (porter, night manger not sure). I said good morning, he said "Good morning, mate". Yes, we live in NZ, but again I feel not the standard that the hotel shows from the decor, rooms, atmosphere.
At breakfast on Sunday, morning all the FOH staff where very pleasant, helpful and in general with the few of us that where in at seven, had little to do. One table came in eat and were gone within ten minutes; they did eat but were very quick. The table was cleared, correctly, but again I felt the standard was not there when the table was sprayed and then wiped. Instead of surely the cloth being sprayed and then wiping the table. Therefore not "spraying" chemical around the immediate area. Finally at breakfast, it was sad to see the chef on his phone! The food was all out and as I said hot, but on his phone right at the front of the "pass".
On the two occasions I had to "sign" for things it seemed odd to sign with a pencil. I have nothing against pencils at all, as I use one quite often, but wondered why a pencil and not a pen?
Please accept these comments as "my" thoughts of my time with you and if I am ever in Queenstown again, I will certainly be looking to book with you. I wish all the Management team and the staff, all the best for the summer season.

Things that were great:
• view from room
• Access to walkway, lovely stroll into town
• Staff were great
• True South meal was really good
Things that weren’t so great:
Room was barely ready at Check in time
Getting to the room is a mission
If we hadn’t booked True South independently we wouldn’t have been able to dine there.
Called into The Bordeaux bar when we got back from dinner on our 2nd night just for a night cap/coffee but no available seats so ended up back in our room.
On balance, with so many options in Queenstown and its reasonably expensive, we probably won’t be back and wouldn’t necessarily recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at the Rees, thank you. Although we only had breakfast at the hotel, the breakfast was very nice and service was very good.
Check in and check out were easy, staff was pleasant and helpful.
Our room was fine (#1112) - well appointed and a nice view of course. However the other two rooms in our party were less than desirable, due to small size. The facility is quite large overall, and it was disappointing to learn that there were not additional rooms available when the overall occupancy was so obviously not full.
We enjoyed very much the access to the Frankton walking track. Some hotel bike rentals would be a great amenity addition to the hotel.
Overall a good experience. We would return if/when visiting the area in the future.

Just wanted to drop a line commending your staff for their incredible service when we were in a (literally) tight spot last weekend.
My partner Julian Frichot and I stayed at the Rees for one night on 23 October. We had been travelling by campervan around the South Island, and we very foolishly missed the height limit sign at the start of the guest car park. Once we got to the bottom of the ramp and realised our mistake, we couldn’t reverse the van up the driveway.
Victor and Jimmy came to our rescue. Victor was so calm and reassuring despite what must have been a very annoying situation to be thrust into, and Jimmy sprang into action with steel-spined (and cheerful) confidence. He got the van out of our predicament without breaking a sweat.
I can't commend your staff highly enough. While Victor and Jimmy were our frontline heroes, absolutely everyone we had the pleasure of meeting at the Rees was warm, considerate and genuine.
Thank you for your hospitality. We look forward to recommending the Rees to everyone we know, and hope we will be back to visit again soon.

Just a note to say how impressed we were with your staff. Ordering room service when you were busy one night…no problem. Food arrived within minutes. We didn’t need room service, but your staff willingly provided it. Chocolates delivered to our room around 6pm weren’t expected. Reception staff very efficient and delightful.
Obviously, I am well aware of the issues every hotel is having with staff shortages at present. I am also well aware of the extra hours you personally had to put in in recent months.

Vicki and myself loved the hotel and especially the staff, The room we stayed in had 1 fault which disturbed our sleep, the blinds had a large separation position in the middle and due to this the outside light shone through all night. To us sleep is very important and we struggled with this type of window blind, It is worth you seeing this at night time to see what i mean. If this was resolved, we will make this hotel our preference in the future

Thanks for having us. Overall, our stay at The Rees was very good. Staff are lovely, amazing views and clean room. However, the amount you charge for the airport transfer is absolutely disgusting. Not even 10 mins from door to door for $185 - I just can’t even comprehend how you arrived at this amount and furthermore thinking it was acceptable. I would welcome a reason. I suggest you reconsider this price for future guests.
Overall the stay was good. Disappointed with the limited restaurant dinner menu and overall value. The room was not serviced until 3pm.

I really had a good time in Rees which gave me very good experience.
I actually told the reception the items I took from mini bar when I checked out and also reminded the big empty glass of water which was I took away from the dining room when I had dinner there. So I just took one plastic bottle of water from fridge, nuts and a bottle of orange juice. That’s all. If you are going to charge me please let me know the plastic bottle water’s price. Thank you

The service and view were both great. The room was adequate and the bed was terrible. I stay in a lot of very good hotels and this bed was the worst in a long time. Two sunken mattresses with large lump where they met on top of the bed foundation. Not great. Just glad I was alone and want on a romantic trip with my wife.

Thanks my summary of the experience is as follows,
Over the previous two years and this year we have held our 3 day strategy sessions in Queenstown. It was extremely difficult to find a Hotel this year , we had done the previous two at the Hilton and they didn’t have the availability. I was concerned when booking with the Rees, it might not work as well but we experienced quite the opposite. The facilities were perfect all of the Board members were impressed with our rooms and extremely impressed with the professional and friendly nature of the staff. It is clear staff at the Rees are a cut above and their must be a good culture running through the Hotel.
The two bedroom, apartment worked really well as a meeting room for 5 people, I did bring my TV and had it on a tripod which worked really well maybe something the Hotel could think of providing in the future.
So in summary rooms were great staff were fantastic food was excellent couldn’t have been better.

Austin for his attention to detail , being super polite and knowledge of area. He would go out of his way to address us and ask about our daily excursions. A young Aussie girl who had been there for 3 weeks had exceptional customer service skills - I apologise for not knowing her name.
Everything we asked for was done. Your staff are what makes your hotel. You definitely have recruited the right people.
I would highly recommend your hotel to anyone. The hotel experience and the beautiful city of Queenstown made our stay one to remember.

The one stray piece of paper I did see in the entrance area was very quickly swooped on by your shuttle driver, or was he the kitchenhand? I observed him at both tasks over my stay. Lead from the front, they say. You seem to prefer to lead from which ever direction the headwind is coming from, and it shows!

We have had tones of positive feedback and the Doctors loved the hotel. All the Rees staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
And the accommodation facilities were amazing.
Only improvement which I have already provided to another staff member at the time was the disappointment around the conference food.

Thank you so much for the stay; we had a wonderful time! The view from hotel, the rooms, and the general area were absolutely breathtaking and fabulous. I’d recommend anyone to stay with the Rees on their visit to Queenstown!
A couple of improvements that could be made, however, are around dining and the booked packages:
- From a dining standpoint (we stayed only 2 nights), we had to remind your facility 3 times that we had already paid for the food since we booked the Ultimate Milford Experience package. (1) For breakfast, we were held up because they had to check with the main lobby if we needed to pay, (2) for the 3 course dinner, we were brought a bill for the meal at end of meal and had to let them know we already paid, and (3) when we checked out, we again were given a bill for the dinner that we had already paid for, and then they tried to take the meal off but charge us for water at dinner. This was quite frustrating, and made us look like we were arguing about a bill each time. This part was not a pleasant experience.
- From the Milford Sound experience, I’d suggest that you offer all options in your package. There were a couple times where we felt that we weren’t given an option for the extras on the experience: 1) lunch on the Milford Sound cruise (others on the same cruise had the option), 2) the other time was on the touch down for the heli flight; others who were with us had champagne on the mountaintop and were gracious enough to share with us, but we were never provided the option.
Because of the two items above, I’d recommend to others that they stay at your hotel but pass on booking the dinner/Milford Sound flight through your hotel as a package deal.
Overall, again, we were absolutely thrilled with the facility and top notch accommodations, but the package was a bit clunky and could be improved.
Likewise it was so great to work with you. The feedback from our partners was highly complimentary, thank you so much for all your help in making it a successful event.

The shuttle service you ran to and from town was such a bonus to have access to with such regular trips on offer.
We loved the convenience and quality of the 7am breakfasts as well that allowed us to head early to the ski fields and gave us as long as possible to enjoy the buz of skiing and being in the snow in general.
I have to admit fault though and have arrived home with two of your small white hand towels/wash cloths. I took them with me up to Coronet Peak expecting to wrap my wet gloves and goggles in them and have forgotten about them at the bottom of my bag till just now discovering them again there still. Apologies.
I hope this isn’t much of an issue but you have our details if you see the need to charge us for the two wash cloths I fully understand.

One thing to mention … when I was registering it gave me an option to advise our likely arrival … and from memory this started from 12pm ….by indicating the arrival and having no feedback to the contrary, I assumed our room was available from when we expected to arrive. I subsequently looked at the web site and it is clear check in is 3 … but maybe letting people know that rooms won’t be available to 3 when someone indicates an earlier arrival would be helpful re misunderstandings.
As I said … very much enjoyed our stay and above only as I think it would improve the experience for people and manage expectations … so your staff don’t have to deal with.

It was lovely to speak to you over the phone the other day.
I am writing to you to express my gratitude and appreciation to your staff members Jimmy and Marie for their fantastic customer service when we were traveling in Queenstown. They tried everything to help and accomodate us, even though we were not your patrons at your Hotel.
We visited Queenstown last month for our long overdue holiday due to travel restrictions in the last few years, and stayed in a holiday accommodation near your hotel.
The main plan of our trip was to go skiing in Queenstown either at Coronet Peak or the Remarkables, as my son had never seen snow before, and New Zealand was our dream location.
Then, the night before we planned to visit the ski fields, we found out our ski bus may be cancelled due to bad weather and the drivers being COVID positive. My son, my wife and of course myself were very disappointed at this stage and I started looking for other transport options in case our bus got cancelled.
We tried everything we could including local taxies, ubers etc.. but to no avail. I then happened to find out that your accommodation operates a ski shuttle bus for your patrons and decided to give your hotel a call in case they know any other travel options.
We spoke to Jimmy who patiently listened to our situation (probably he could tell how much I was panicking and concerned!) ,and he kindly organised a taxi to the ski fields for us for the next day which we could not have done by ourselves .
I was calling with my mobile phone with poor wifi connection and therefore my phone cut off all the time. I can’t remember how many times I spoke to Jimmy and Marie - I felt terrible to ask them our favour but they were so patient and they welcomed our phone calls on that night.
What I was amazed by was their professionalism and amazing hospitality . Also the time when we where in Queenstown was the first week of school holidays, so I knew that you were extremely busy with your own customers. However, your staff treated us just like your own which was incredibly humbling. I have never received such high quality hospitality experience ever… very impressed!!
A BIG thank you again to Jimmy & Marie !!. As a token of appreciation , we have sent you a little present for them to share….. I hope that you will enjoy it. Fortunately, we managed to get to the snow as we planned :) Our bus operated on the day and we had a wonderful time there.

thanks for providing a prize in the 'powder highway' event. I stayed Sunday and Monday and despite being a regular visitor to the region, I realised on the first day that it was a good thing to be able to say to people that I have stayed in the property. Roman arranged for me to be in an Exec Lakeview, and I found the overall experience very nice.
I took the shuttle to town last night and got caught up in one of the winterpride events. I called reception twice to move my booking from town back to the hotel and can I just say, the warmth and hospitality of the desk staff exceeded my expectations.
Again, thank you for providing a prize, and I will make the effort to include a Rees option for all future bookings. I do note that after last years shutdown I had a lot of customers forced to cancel and have had Zero Australian enquiries and only booked 2 Auckland based files down here this year. I can't help but ponder that the push for direct bookings is drying up the travel agent market - not a complaint, just an observation. I hope that the properties are feeling a good demand.

I was expecting a receipt to be emailed through to me that covered my breakfast there. I was told this would be emailed (morning of the 24th) through but don’t appear to have received anything as yet. I will need this for accounting purposes.
That stay at the Rees in general was pretty good. The restaurant food was amazing and amenities was all pretty good.
The only thing that put a dampener on the stay was the partying Aussies in the residences below. They were just typically rude ignorant people with no regard to anyone else. I did not get to sleep until around 2 am and had to be up by 6 for work.
Not impressed at all, and when confronting one of the party in the lift the next morning, he apologized in advance as they were planning on more of the same for the next couple of nights. I am glad I ended up moving. /
I know this is a tricky situation to deal with, but when you have many people paying a premium to stay, everyone should be respected and I feel I was not.

Everything was great, and we have stayed in a lot of great hotels around the world.
The internet was appalling, and at 1 meg download, and 0.3meg up it was appalling and anyone responsible should be ashamed. I had a lot of trouble checking the speed as it was so slow that most speed checks would not load as the speed was so poor. They rated it as “Very slow” I could check emails and do very simple slow browsing. I could not even load the Herald Sun. I tried the speed in the room. The Dining room, and the lobby. Virtually the same. If I had known before, we would not have come, and although we loved the hotel so much, we will not stay there again if we come back to Queenstown, which we hope we do. To call it “Free High speed internet” is a blatant lie. I do business on holidays and it was not possible most of the time. To make it worse, the phone internet was only 3.5mg. The slowest phone test I have ever done, making the wi fi lack of speed even worse. Despite having one of the best hotels, and staff anywhere. You should be ashamed. The staff I mentioned it to certainly were.

We enjoyed our stay at the Rees very much. Over the years we have stayed there a number of times without any issues. However this time we noticed the beds were quite old and very dippy. Perhaps you should look at changing the mattress . At the cost of the rooms you should expect beds that do not have big dips in the mattresses. The staff are very helpful and friendly. So other than the mattresses no complaints.

We had the most wonderful stay. The staff, the welcome, the nothing was too much trouble made the most amazing difference to us.
When travelling with young people with disabilities, wheelchair users and a support dog, people become overwhelmed or just leave us to “get on with it”. Not your team, they supported us every step of the way to make sure the young people, some who had never been away from home, some who had never been on a plane and many who had never been to Queenstown, had the most incredible experience with stories to tell.
The Rees team do not just show hospitality the were part of making a huge difference in the lives of 12 young people with disabilities.

I very seldom write a review, however our recent stay at the Rees Hotel has compelled me to write this. The interaction with the front of house, the wait staff and cleaners is the best we have experienced in all of our years of travel. Everyone was so helpful and very courteous; nothing was a problem. The breakfast food was varied and enjoyable and the dinner we had was the best we ate in Queenstown. I sincerely hope that the staff are given plenty of on-going development opportunities and are remunerated well. The Rees Hotel is an example of how every New Zealand hotel should function.

I recently visited True South on the 25th July with my fiancé to celebrate our engagement that day and the staff and service was absolutely incredible.
It was our first time in Queenstown and at True South but it won’t be our last, as my fiancé and I enjoyed our time so much.
Specifically, Eugene was incredible; he was brilliantly kind, funny and knowledgeable of the wines on offer (and his suggestions of what White to have was perfect). We cannot thank him enough for making our night perfect, and we also cannot thank the other waiters and cooking staff for a brilliant evening (I am sorry I don’t recall/don’t have their names).

Our stay was mostly great, however, the mattress in the room was one of the worst we’ve ever experienced. It was extremely springy and felt like something you’d find in a cheap motel. I was expecting something much better given your reputation.
It may also be a good idea to update the carpet in the room as it was looking a bit tired. It was also never vacuumed during our stay.
Overall though your staff from housekeeping to the front desk to the restaurant were very friendly and attentive and the general ambience of the hotel was very pleasant. Thank you.

The service was absolutely wonderful from the first to the last day - from Ruby at reception who greeted us warmly and gave us lots of useful information, to the staff in the lounge who made us coffees in the morning and remembered our orders, to the room service and housekeeping staff who were all so lovely and the shuttle bus drivers who went out of their way to get us all to and fro.
And then half of our party went into COVID isolation!!! Ruby again and Mia were wonderful accommodating some of us for some extra nights. And during your busy season. We realise this was not easy to arrange and we are so grateful. But never did your staff make us feel unwelcome. Never did we feel anything but respected and cared for. Which was a great help in managing our situation.
So overall, despite COVID, we had a great experience at Rees Hotel. We can’t speak highly enough of the team.

Well we have only stayed a couple of times at the Rees but both times I have found myself bringing the cane table from outside inside to put at the end of the settee for drinks. So maybe a small coffee table at the end of the settee might be a good idea.
Lovely to meet you straight off the slopes that day and into your hotel - a little weary but a lovely welcome.

The staff were all so friendly and helpful, right from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. From front of house, restaurant, bar, concierge services - everyone was excellent. Special mention to Gabriel - for whom nothing was too much trouble.
Our room was lovely - with every little detail thought of. Gorgeous food and drinks in the mini bar, beautiful products in the bathroom, as well as super comfortable beds and a view I could not believe - it was so magnificent.
The food at breakfast was delicious, and we loved our pre dinner drink and cheese board every night in the lounge area, watching the light fade over the lake.
The shuttle into town every hour was also such a help.

The mini-bar message we got when we arrived at our room was a bit confusing. We were told that because we were in the residence villa, the mini-bar was complimentary. We had a lovely stay and we’re welcomed by the delightful Austin, who was very knowledgeable and informative about the Rees and Queenstown in general. The cheerful Ruby helped me confirm a tour booking when I struggled to do so with my Australian phone. My son enjoyed the gym and I was thrilled with the full sized washer/dryer.
We were not thrilled to be awoken by room service at about 1:45 AM ON Saturday morning whilst room service were trying to deliver a tray of cocktails… we explained we hadn’t ordered them, but the waiter was back about 20 minutes later to insist they were ours… I did attend the front desk on Saturday afternoon to ensure we weren’t charged and the front desk attendant was aware of the issue and assured me we weren’t charged, he said they had the wrong room number. I do think the hotel could have been more apologetic about a very early morning delivery that came back a second time even when we declined the delivery.
We were extremely impressed with the room cleaning crew as they were efficient, did a great job and always came before noon to attend to the room. One day they even emptied the dishwasher! Whoever cleaned for us on Wednesday was especially amazing!
As we we were there for six nights, we felt the crockery and cutlery wasn’t really sufficient… a Teflon pan would be a great addition to the room and the English Breakfast tea wasn’t replenished.
We loved the view, the lobby was cozy and the selection of movies a bonus. Having the lights on, fire going and room ready for our arrival was a nice touch. We felt our ski gear was safe with the ski/snowboard room system.

If I could provide one piece of feedback it was True South dining. When we visited last time it was my mothers 70th and we booked the restaurant as her birthday dinner. It was an exceptional overall dining experience. The experience we had this trip was far from that, yet it was the most expensive meal we had in Queenstown. I would recommend that you rebrand for this period and provide a menu and service that is more in line with what your kitchen and staff can manage, relaunch your fine dining when you are in a position to do so, because you are damaging your brand in its current state.
We loved the stay at your apartments. The little touches you supplied were much appreciated.
We were in apartment 4041. The couple who were using the main bathroom off the hall mentioned that the expel vent in the bathroom did not seem to be working.

Lucille & Jimmy: Lucille welcomed us upon our initial arrival & we dealt mostly with her throughout our stay & she would have to be one of the most kindest, warmest & professional people we’ve had the pleasure of dealing with. Much the same for Jimmy - he was professional, quick to help & extremely eager to ensure we had everything we needed.
Mu: she met us every morning at breakfast with a smile & figured out quickly we were happy to have a conversation at breakfast. She always came over, even if she wasn’t serving us, to say hello & to ask how we were and what we had planned. Not to mention, she was an incredibly hard worker through the busy periods.
The wait staff on 22 June 2022 at True South Dining: they went above and beyond, had some brilliant recommendations for wine, explained the meals, checked up on how we were going & were just extremely professional.
I would like to extend my most sincere gratitude to the whole team at Rees for their outstanding service & professionalism. I will definitely be recommending The Rees for anyone I know visiting Queenstown & as frequent visitors of New Zealand - we will definitely be back.

Our only very small area of issue was the room service menu & breakfast.
After a day going to wineries (eating a lot of winter based food etc) the room service menu was very limited and a couple of lighter options like a Caesar salad would be great.

The apartments were spacious, comfortable, spotless and had an amazing view. All the staff were very attentive and friendly, nothing ever
seemed like too much trouble and they always had a smile and a friendly hello.
The lobby is very welcoming and inviting, not only does the view speak for itself but the ambience is exactly what you need/envision when going to Queenstown.
We had breakfast at the hotel each morning which was delicious and always very prompt. The team down in the restaurant were all very lovely, I didn't get their names but a lovely lady who I believe was from Japan.
We also had dinner in the hotel for the first night as it was my mum's birthday, food was spectacular and again the service was excellent.

I was in an unfamiliar room this time, but there was never anything out of place. ( do check the toilet bowl though. I am not sure if the water should continue to drip into the bowl when the flushing stops)

We had another wonderful stay thanks. Just a couple of points to note. We found the bedrooms a little squashed with such a large bed in a small room it really left no room for bags. The room we had previously was larger so will look to book this one next time.
A couple of staff I would like to call out.
Jimmy who checked us in and drove us in the shuttle a few times with a very cheerful demeanour. So hard to see people smiling in these days of mask wearing but you could tell he was happy in his work.
Bea was the other stand out as she served us multiple times in the restaurant and our daughter actually remembered her from our last visit. Bea was friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. She has such a gorgeous laugh that she made our meal times pleasant. We were always pleased to see her when she was on duty.
I trust you and the team are doing as well as you can at present mate?
I’ve been meaning to drop you a line re our recent stay (April 10-14). We brought all 4 of our kids with us which is hectic enough on its own. I’m sure you’re aware but we had a couple of minor technical difficulties with the room and both of us cannot speak highly enough of how your team approached and handled them.
The personnel on during our entire stay were (as always) professional, courteous and above all else, supremely helpful. It made a relatively difficult trip (pleasing 4 kids is a hell of a task) that much more enjoyable and we’d really appreciate if you could mention to them all how much we appreciated their help and patience.

Thank you very much for your message and for the great stay we enjoyed at the Rees hotel! We loved the lake view ( changing during the day) and the very comfortable spacious bed. We also appreciated the secure parking especially given we had an exotic car with us.
The only thing we were missing was a working space - a desk or small table and chair would have been very helpful as my husband had to do some work on a number of occasions during our stay.
He managed by using the side board but a purpose built desk or table would have been better.

Also, having broken my ankle on the first day of our honeymoon, I was particularly grateful for the room upgrade provided, as we spent much more time in the room than we had planned. The gluten free pizza we had from late night room service menu was one of the best I've ever had.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rees. Was meant to be 2 nights but we added a third as we decided our other accom option we had booked would be disappointing in comparison!
Room was well appointed, bathroom was spacious, clean and the spa bath was an added bonus.
Turn down service includes the most delicious chocolates too!
Wifi worked well as did the TV and in room tablet that gave you all the hotel info.
We stayed in an Executive Lake View room, which is a mezzanine style (up some stairs) on level 7 (the top level) so our super large balcony gave us great views.
Yes it wasn’t a direct view as you look into the roof below, but we really liked the space the room gave us and it also meant we had more privacy.
The balcony on ours and the room itself are much bigger than the lake view hotel rooms.
Free parking in covered garaging below and also a Tesla charging station which came in handy for our rental.
Breakfast was included in our rate, was a limited menu you selected from (due to Covid I suspect) and it was good too.
All the staff (reception, restaurant to house keeping) we came across were fantastic - nothing was an issue - but a big shoutout to the man Jimmy who was ever so pleasant and showed us the other room type we were considering changing to (a Lake view hotel room, decided we liked the Exec room better!).
It’s people like Jimmy that keep you coming back!
We will be back and highly recommend the Rees to those that are looking at options in Queenstown. Yes it may be a bit pricier - but you get what you pay for in our opinion.
Something to note: It is a few minutes drive from the main center which wasn’t an issue for us as we had a car, but they offer a shuttle service hourly which really makes things easy. On previous trips without a car we’ve stayed closer to town at the QT so we could walk in, but even if we didn’t have a rental next time we would stay at the Rees as the rooms and staff were that good, and the fact that you can still get into and out of town via the shuttle makes being a few mins drive out not a problem.
They also have free guest laundry - 2 washing machines and 2 dryers for your use (free) which was handy as we had been away for close to a week.
When you factor in breakfast, laundry services and parking, that is all included in the rate, we felt it was great value for money.

Your hotel exceeded our expectations in every respect – the accommodation, the position, the facilities, the excellent shuttle service – and above all – your staff and their utter professionalism, warmth and engagement with guests. Rarely do we experience such a committed team, who clearly value their employment with you and treat each guest with individual attention, with the omnipresent smile. We understand this can’t be easy after two years of uncertainty – congratulations on engendering such a positive mindset.

The entire team consistently delivered excellent service, and this was felt for the entire week I spent with you. Shane was outstanding and went above and beyond to ensure we were well looked after and wanting to come back as soon as possible.
The hot chocolate is delicious!! As were all the hot drink options we managed to enjoy. I don’t drink trim milk, but I know one of my colleagues would have liked that as an option. We managed breakfast on one day due to a busy schedule and only had room service (lunch) once. They were nice.
Rooms were lovely and clean - the amenities available were extensive and appreciated. Lovely big towels. I used the Bluetooth speaker in my room and thought that was a great touch. The milk in the fridge was DELICIOUS! I was only sad I didn’t discover it until late in my stay and then opted not to have my room serviced so I ran out but a wonderful selection of tea options which I appreciated.
Overall, I’m a fan and will be back next time I’m in Queenstown - happy to recommend the Rees to anyone.

One of the best hotels in the world.
The staff were the highlight of the stay for me. Micka was incredibly accomodating with a particularly demanding request that I made. Micka made sure she was available for me when needed and went above and beyond in the service she provided. Micka was also was so kind and friendly throughout my whole stay. My family really enjoyed the service provided by Jimmy, he was very helpful, informative and warm and I want to thank him for that - they felt really well looked after. Shane was also another staff member that my family adored, he was so kind and always had a big smile on his face. Shane was also extremely kind and genuinely warm. I felt so welcomed by everyone - it was like coming home whenever I arrived back at the hotel.
The rooms are immaculate, with beautiful ammenities and facilities (including a bluetooth enabled speaker and bath salts in addition to the standard ammenities). I also really appreciate that the bedside tables have USB plugs right next to the bed. The view is absolutely unbeatable. The bed is divine and the rooms are lovely and warm - when I needed to cool down the room I just opened the door. The staff also offer a shuttle service to town. Seriously, what more could you need?!
I think the best way to praise this hotel is to mention that fact that my mother now wants to cancel her birthday celebrations in Rarotonga so we can return to the Rees instead.

A special thankyou to Austin and Eugene for their very welcoming service on arrival and in the dining room for breakfast. Our eldest son and his wife organised our stay and it was lovely that they mentioned our 40th wedding anniversary, and that in our room was a lovely card and sweets.

We also really valued the guest shuttle service to and from Queenstown, and all the staff's gracious willingness to drive us around. Shane was charming and gave us wonderful advice on things to do in Queenstown that we may not otherwise have known about. Every staff member we encountered was so kind and courteous and genuine, which is hugely important in hospitality - we felt cared for and that our needs were easily catered to.
The room service breakfast was delicious and timely and thank you also for the late checkout and ability to store our luggage for much of the afternoon before we flew out on Sat night.
We had an amazing time at the Rees and will definitely recommend it to others who visit!

I do have some feedback which I would like to share with you but will not share it through booking.com or any public portal.
The welcome to the hotel with Sebastian was lovely, very inviting and personal - thank you.
The room and view was lovely and clean.
The dinner was terribly dissapointing, we understood the meals were being served in the reception area so allowance were made.
The staff were friendly but the food was not that good, 2 scallops per serve for a starter was poor value, and the mains were cold/ luke warm.
Main dinner portion sizes were also very small.
We are not big eaters but both felt hungry post dinner which resulted in eating the mini bar crisps.
Dinner came in at $180 which we put down to poor value and very average.
We had planned to stay an additional night but decided against it on an over rated experience.

Good afternoon Abdon,
Feedback for you on our stay as per below, Room 7123;
Shower design allows water to flow under the door and out on to the floor. Luckily we had the bath mat down. It ended up very wet.
The tiles of the shower have slippery spots which could be a safety issue.
The upgrade was greatly appreciated however I was a little frustrated that the initial view was of a roof and then the lake. It took away some of the magic.
It is probably worthwhile for us on any future stay to call and book direct in order to ensure we get the room and view we're after rather than using Booking.com and not fully understanding what we are booking. Very minor issue though.
Heidi and her team at check in were excellent and I cannot fault their customer service. Fantastic rapport with the team and a credit to your organisation.
Dinner at True South was good, a few more scallops for the entre would justify the price. The truffle French fries were excellent, the tuna meal was good as was the mushroom pasta, although the mushroom sauce could have been a little thicker. Overall value for money was average to good, presentation excellent, taste good.
Bar service was very good however my choice of drink is a Long Island Iced Tea and I am intrigued that the first drink was pleasant but tasted weaker than expected and the second was spot on. Consistency needed?
Check out was an excellent experience. Quick, professional and friendly.
My wife and I regularly visit family further south and since Covid we vowed to support businesses in the area and, with hotels, decided using a different provider each time to share the love. This is now going to be difficult after our stay with you but will possibly still look for that room with a view and the customer service of The Rees.

A HUGE “ Thank You” to you and all at the Rees who made my hosting of today’s workshop a seamless delight.
The level of care, professionalism , flexibility and attention to detail that you have shown since I first starting talking to you about the event, way back in July has been exceptional. I have felt supported by a capable and dedicated pair of hands and it was a real bonus not to have to worry about the venue and catering details in the lead up to the event.
The views from the Ruma Wai Kahu room help to set the scene for an extraordinary day and they were more than complimented by the comfort and style of the well resourced room ( including some standout artworks). The chef’s offering drew many a compliment and the strawberry dessert was “ the cherry on the top” which brought the “ serious business “ of the workshop to a halt ( filled with appreciative sounds and comments).
Thank you once again for the part you and the Rees have played in the success of the workshop.
I just wanted to pass on my sincere thanks to your team for looking after us so amazingly whilst we were there over Labour weekend. We had a fantastic weekend which was heightened by the service we received at the Rees. The Rees is a beautiful hotel. I stayed there on the recommendation of a friend (Di Coutts) who stays with you on her trips to Queenstown. The service and hospitality of all staff was exceptional during my stay. I have to say I was slightly disappointed by the reduced breakfast and dinner menus however I totally understand why in these COVID times of fewer guests. Having said that the breakfast (Continental) and dinner were beautifully presented.

Good afternoon. My wife and I stayed at The Rees Hotel for two nights - 5/6 October 2021. We wish to record our appreciation for your lovely hotel, delightful staff and relaxing environment. We throughly enjoyed our stay and will be back (for longer next time). The bed was soooo comfortable, the room was immaculate and the food delicious. Naming staff for special mention is dangerous because all the staff were professional and extremely courteous. However one staff member needs to be mentioned. Shane at the front desk was charming, pleasant and always engaging. He regularly checked that everything was to order. Shane went out of his way to ensure we were satisfied with The Rees’ altered arrangements with a flight to Milford. Right through our stay We felt valued as clients of the Rees and for that we thank you.

And I will put something up on the trip advisor about how awesome you all are there at the Rees. We have stayed at 5 star resorts all around the world and my first roles in life were in travel/tourism - you and your team definitely deliver.
Constructive feedback - would love to see a local provider of the bathroom amenities - Forest and Bird are a political lobby group, there was nothing particularly 'environmentally friendly' about their product packaging or the products themselves out of an Auckland repacker - so if you have a local lavender farm or similar, please consider using/promoting them and their products rather than a political lobby entity.
Your turn down service - take the chance when guests are out to do this - rather than when they are still in house at 4-5pm (we understand that perhaps your turn down employee was being let go early under covid - but if not... then maybe don't do that as it's lovely to come back AFTER dinner and find the room 'ready for bed' and we LOVED the little chocolate every night too!)
Other than that - Marvellous, wonderful, fabulous and the BED! So, so comfy and we have a magnificent bed at home. The room was superb - world class!
All of your people were friendly, interested, helpful and attentive - particularly our van driver Shane and waitress Becs (? I think - lovely girl from the Phillipines) and our check out girl and Jimmy and, and, and... just great!

Hi there, I just wanted to take a few moments to send through a review since our recent stay with you guys.
This hotel the pinnacle of special. And as much as the hotel was beautiful, luxurious, and everything I had hoped to expect, you just can’t beat the five star service. From check in with Ariana and Heidi where all we received were big smiles and such a warm welcome…to the waiters, waitresses, (Floriana’s food knowledge and enthusiasm was awesome, and Mu and Eugene at breakfast were always helpful, pleasant and super lovely), to our main man Shane who greeted us at the jetty on arrival (yes the hotel has a service where you arrive via K-Jet to their private jetty from the airport!) and who was such a pleasure to have drive us out to an experience at Oxbow - we chatted the whole way, he an amazing representative for your hotel who always made us feel relaxed and comfortable, he is such an asset to you guys!!
Last but definitely not least, Jimmy - The absolute BEST concierge I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with (and the concierge at The Carlyle in New York I thought was the best yet but he has now been beaten!) Jimmy couldn’t do enough for us including arranging transfers, fitting activities in around our itinerary, calling us to let us know when things were happening and how the weather was looking, and he actually engineered a lot of our trip too giving us the best tips and places to go from Glacier helicopter tours to off-roading and speed jet boating! You guys are just all so amazing. We will absolutely only be staying at The Rees in future any time we come to Queenstown.

Our stay at The Rees was outstanding – from the minute we walked into reception and were greeted by the friendly FOH team it felt as though we were coming home. I know I speak on behalf of Audi when I say we are incredibly grateful for the wider Rees team who go above and beyond to ensure that both guests are staff are looked after to the best of their ability.
The way the team coordinate the room drops and work in with our busy schedule of welcome functions and early breakfasts is seamless and doesn’t go unnoticed from our end.
With regards to Tuesday evening, thank you all for being so understanding and flexible to accommodate our last minute restaurant booking. It wasn’t the way we envisaged our event finishing however our guests were incredibly grateful that we were still able to provide them with a Plan B.
Fiona, you have been brilliant with regards to accommodating our group bookings. Thank you for your flexibility and patience with last minute changes to guest bookings – I have really enjoyed working alongside you on this event, thanks for making it so easy!

I just wanted to note that half of my bed was very uncomfortable. It felt like the middle had sunk in (the bed closest to the lake). I figured it would be twin beds stuck together so I just slept on the other side and it was great. Perhaps the mattress needs replacing?

We had another wonderful time staying in your facility to celebrate my son’s 30th birthday. He and his partner were blown away by the apartment, and loved every minute of it.

We had a really great stay and time in Queenstown.
The staff at the property were all really amazing. From check in to concierge to food & beverage.
The only niggle we had would be the comfort of the beds, which i know is a personal preference and can't satisfy everyone.
We just felt that they were really too soft and felt a bit "flimsy" and weren't able to get a great night's sleep.
But i know this is personal preference
Really enjoyed the stay I left that 30 for that very reason :) I'll definitely be back soon !!

I would like to acknowledge your staff and there beautiful services from our stay on the 24-26 july. The reception staff we’re friendly and very welcoming. The staff that clean our room we’re too kind. Every time we saw them pushing there massive trolleys from one room to another. They always stop and make way for us put a beautiful smile on and wish us a happy days. We are very very impressed. Every staff we came across was very friendly. Even the staff in the restaurant. The food was amazing and would love to acknowledge the chefs. But to top it all of is your Staff named Pablo. Very happy man. He make our day. Very cheerful. Very positive and friendly. Thank you soo much for having such lovely staff to represent your Hotel and we loved our stay and your staff 100% happy with there service.

Thank you to all of you at the Rees for another wonderful stay the other week. That's the second time my family have stayed with you in as many months, this time also with my sister's family... you must have all been so thrilled every time you saw 5 kids, all under 8, running around and threatening to destroy the place :| ... Anyway, despite my children, the Rees, Queenstown and NZ is a true oasis away from everything else happening in the rest of the world. You've created such a lovely and truly hospitable environment and I really do appreciate the effort and energy that goes into making it such a welcoming place to stay; it is such an incredible respite, you have no idea. You can't fake the warm and friendly smiles you get every time you open the door to room-service, pop up to reception or the restaurant, wandering the corridors, or even from Alex after the tenth time we hit him up for a ride into town (10 of us had to make that the family road trip from hell - no wonder you took the short cuts!) ...so my thanks to you all for just how truly special a place you have there; I hope it never changes.
I also hope the local and Australian tourists (maybe aside from the Sydneysiders at the moment) return in numbers over the coming weeks and you have an amazing winter. You certainly deserve it.
Lastly, for the many of you it seems who are currently away from your own families around the world, riding out this time far away from loved ones... I've been there and I really feel for you, NZ is a lovely country and the Rees is a great spot, but family is still family right... I hope you get comfort from your amazing 'work family', that this pandemic is soon behind all of us, and that you get to see your own families again very soon.

The only comment I would like to make is that during the busy times of the year, I think the shuttle bus to and from Queenstown should run more frequently, say every half an hour and be more flexible for the guests.

Overall we had a good stay, however, we were disappointed that we did not get any compensation, other than a quick sorry at checkout (when we mentioned it) for the disruption caused by a water leak in our bathroom.
This caused us to repack and move to another room with a worse view, my wife lost a whole morning (she’s writing a script) due to disruption liaising with reception, cleaners and then plumbers at the door – rather than peace and quiet to focus on her work.
We note that you picked up quickly on mini-bar $16.50 (on the room we were forced to move from) – which we are ok to pay but don’t see much balance in your overall approach (in a $3,000 or so stay).
We also note your staff were all very courteous and helpful.

Our stay at The Rees was marvelous. I travel often and can state honestly that The Rees is one of a kind. You cannot find another hotel in New Zealand with amazing views, friendly staff, and excellent food at their onsite restaurant. It is the whole package. The room we stayed in was immaculate, with a stunning view of the lake and mountains - particularly in the morning when the sun rose. The food was excellent - there is a variety available to suit all palates. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. That, in particular, made our stay very pleasant - Thank you to all the staff that helped us during our stay there over the 4th and 5th of July. I will definitely be coming back and look forward to staying at The Rees, which I cannot recommend enough.

I felt we enveloped every aspect from the room, restaurant and views so much so that we opted to stay in and do room service on our final night. We honestly felt spoilt and cannot wait to visit your beautiful luxury accommodation in the near future.

Also compliments to your restaurant, where we enjoyed a beautiful breakfast and once again the waiting staff in the restaurant were top notch.
And being able to have safe and secure off-street parking was a huge plus for us.
We thought the bed mattress was very comfortable and this is important to us. The only thing that we struggled with was the bedding...would have preferred a lighter warm duvet instead of the very light duvet and heavier bedspread on top. Found it hard to get the temperature right and thus did not have such a good sleep.
But overall it was a very enjoyable experience and we would recommend and would be happy to return.

Again, your email is a clear indication of the absolute professional service The Rees hotel provided me at all times during my stay.
As soon as I walked in the door and spoke to Lauren I felt that the service was going to be of the highest standard. Lauren was immediately attentive to my requests and couldn’t have been more accommodating when I asked for a room with a view. She even took the time to show me a room and offered to show me others.
All of your staff were magnificent. They made my stay very, very enjoyable. I haven’t experienced such service pretty much anywhere else in the world and I’ve had the opportunity to stay in some exclusive hotels. Your staff are to be commended and the high level of training of your staff is very obvious.
Lauren, in particular, seemed to be on the desk for my entire stay! Her positive attitude towards everything I asked of her was exemplary. Lauren mentioned that she is currently on a visa sponsored by the hotel and that there is currently uncertainty with visas in New Zealand. All I can say is that under no circumstances should the hotel let Lauren go because of her visa running out. She was the best possible ambassador your hotel could have to encourage return travel to the hotel. The Rees can simply not let Lauren go, and to be honest if you do I would possibly be in a position to offer her employment in Australia if she should want to continue her travels.
The rooms were clean, tidy and well appointed. The view was worth staying at the hotel. The bathroom was magnificent and I had too many showers because the shower was a joy to soak in. I’ve never had such a nice showerhead provided such a satisfying shower. A strange thing to comment on I’m sure but truly a joy after a long day on my feet going sightseeing.
The walk into town was very nice, the shuttle service is what ultimately caused me to book at The Rees but everything else I have mentioned above made the stay even more enjoyable.
Unfortunately I ran out of time to have dinner there and maybe this will be an excuse to come back.

Thank you so much, we just had the most amazing weekend at your hotel and were treated like VIP guests. Mark was so kind to us and made us feel so welcome. The helicopter trip he took us on was a once in a lifetime experience. We also had the most amazing dinner on Saturday night. The chef gave us a 6 course tasting menu and even though we had different dietary issues in our group it wasn’t a problem for him. We had a very special time in Queenstown. I was with my mother from Hawkes Bay and my sister from Sydney. It had been over a year since we had been together.
The staff at the Rees were wonderful and we have mentioned to our friends how nice it was to be a wee way out of Queenstown as it was lovely and quiet.

This was our first stay at The Rees, although we visit Queenstown every year because it is my husband’s childhood home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Initially we were not OK with the first room that we were given because it was like sleeping with the lights on at night, but Austin took care of us and quickly sorted it. Your staff, without exception, are lovely. We particularly enjoyed meeting Austin, Edward and Lauren but Jimmy was the stand-out for us. Just a delight on the shuttle and organising our bikes was no trouble. We loved coming back in the evening to their smiling faces on reception!

My son returned from Australia for a short holiday. It was our first time together as a family for over 2 years .
From the moment we stepped foot into the reception area to our last day we felt so privileged and happy. The apartment was incredible with its beautiful view of the lake and all the extra touches . Every small detail and just going above and beyond for our engagement was truly magical.
The chefs were fantastic , the staff in the dining room remembering exactly what sauces I have and the tea my Fiancé has every morning, The turn down services and the willingness of all the staff to help in any shape or form these are just a few examples of the smaller details that took our visit to the next level!

We had Ana amazing stay at the Rees. It was a special treat to come and stay with you as I have a major medical condition to manage, ima single mum and wasn’t sure if I’d even be here, and be able to take my son on holiday by myself- so I did!
I wanted somewhere easy to stay, Given I cannot drive, we used your shuttle service a couple of times each day of our stay. The staff driving the vehicles were always so courteous. Even providing car seats/booster seats.
The rooms were lovely with the lake view, we watched a movie from a great selection & enjoyed the bath each night.
The rooms were beautifully cleaned each day which was a treat to come back to after our days activities.
We also enjoyed the board games and use of your bikes for my son while I could enjoy a run.
I also like that the Rees is not a big international hotel chain & the staff seem to be looked after - given they were so welcoming from the time we walked in the door to when we left.
Anyway, in summary it was an amazing experience from the time we walked in the door to when we left yesterday. I would recommend you to others and also like to come again and stay on a special occasion.
The only suggestions I have- and these certainly did not make our stay any less enjoyable.
-firmer pillows available for the bed
-the gym would be nicer in a better space, if it had the lake view to look out to. Not so cool running on a treadmill, using the bike facing a wall. I didn’t use the tv but it would be very close to look at.
- I did see you offer HiIT classes. Given the reason for most people’s stay is to holiday- along with maintaining well was I’d say yoga/pilates classes would be welcomed. Would be amazing to do out on your jetty- it would work with decent Matt’s underneath.

The hotel was fantastic and thank you for the upgrade. I have put a feedback on Booking.com and Trip Advisor, but for your records the hotel was exceptionally clean, very well appointed,staff very friendly and helpful. Loved the offer of a courtesy ride into town.

Although we had previously booked into a different hotel for our two nights in Queenstown, we were very disappointed at our previous hotel and decided to find somewhere else for our final night.
Although it was a same day booking the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating making the change easy and stress free.
We arrived at the hotel and the staff took our bags and stored them in our room before we checked in. They rang when our room was cleaned so we could check in early.
When we arrived back at the hotel we were approached by a welcoming smile from Austin who finalised the check in procedure and showed us to our room. He was extremely knowledgeable and welcoming offering assistance when he could.
We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was beautiful, clean, well presented with all amenities first class.
We went to the bar for drinks which were made by a very pleasant Filipino lady (who’s name I unfortunately do not remember. The drinks were perfect, extremely tasty, well made and presented beautifully. They arrived with a friendly smile and with care given.
We ordered room service from the bar and it arrived promptly and again well presented. The food was delicious and hot.
The whole experience of staying at The Rees was exceptional and made our final night of our trip one to remember.

Apologies for the delay in responding to you. After we got home from Queenstown, it was straight back to reality and I didn't want to rush my email to you.
We are so very pleased we chose to stay with you. It was a last minute decision and absolutely the right one. From the first communication with you over the phone, right through to the end of our stay, everything was just perfect.
We got picked up at the airport in the Bentley. That was a lovely surprise for Ross on our wedding anniversary. He had seen the car in the carpark and was looking more confused the closer we got to it. He in fact hadn't been to Queenstown before ever, so thoroughly enjoyed the orientation, moreso in that beautiful car.
The welcome from the Rees staff on arrival was just so nice. Every single staff member is friendly, professional, helpful, and nothing is a problem. There was a card and anniversary gift in our room. The features were all explained to us from the ipad to the privacy screen. The room was well presented, spacious, luxurious and comfortable.
Our anniversary dinner was unforgettable. I'm not sure there are words to appropriately describe the food but your chef/s and their team deserve a medal, a hat, a star, all of the above.
Another surprise was going back to our room after dinner and it had been turned down for us, wet towels removed, little chocolates left on the pillow.
The next morning after a lovely breakfast, we got dropped off in town for the start of our Milford Track journey organised by Fiordland Outdoor Co. I should mention that they had lovely things to say about the Rees Hotel also and confirmed that we made a good choice staying with you.
On our return to the hotel 4 days later, and it no longer being our wedding anniversary, we didn't expect 5 star service but there it was again. The staff remembered us, we were welcomed back, our bags were taken care of, they made sure we were settled in and comfortable. The shower and the bath helped with the aches and pains, and it turns out you can watch the telly from the bath, have your wine, and look out at the lake all at the same time. Very cool.
The day of departure, unfortunately wet, your team arranged a rental car for us (again, nothing seems to be a problem), dropped us at the Avis office and off we went for a drive, before heading to the airport.

On both occasions we were treated with first class service. From the moment we arrived, your friendly front of house staff welcomed us with both professionalism and warmth.
I would like to personally thank Lauren for adjusting our payment plan for our stay to save us over $500! She certainly went over and above to help us in this regard. Also our upgrade on our first night was so very much appreciated and once again a testament to your excellent service.
Special mention also to Austin at front of house. A super friendly young man who welcomed us and gave us some excellent dining and activity choices as we were both new to Queenstown. He was very helpful and courteous at the same time.
We dined in your restaurant each morning for breakfast and we would like to personally thank Natcha. What a lovely young helpful lady with a great sense of humour. She went above and beyond to help us each morning with true professionalism.
Our Executive King Room with lake views was spectacular! It was an absolute pleasure to wake up to that view each day and then have drinks on our deck in the afternoons. The bed turndown and chocolate was a very nice touch and very much appreciated.
To finish, we really enjoyed your hotel – so well appointed and your staff certainly were the most helpful we have ever come across in our hotel stays. We will be highly recommending your hotel to our friends who intend to travel to Queenstown.

We stayed at the Rees for 3 nights from the 6th to the 9th. Just wanted to say how amazing our stay was, especially the staff, Lauren was amazing and thoughtful, was kind enough to upgrade us one night to a room with a spa bath which meant after our 22km walk we were able to chill and recover. We also had a great night out on the town upon her recommendation. Every staff member we interacted with went above an beyond. Even our routeburn tour guide said whenever he comes to the Rees to pick people up, you always have the happiest and best staff. It was a special trip for us as we got engaged but the Rees made it that much more special. Thank you once again and we hope to be back in the winter or end of the year for another trip. We will be recommending the Rees to all our friends and family.

The room worked very well for my training and provided myself and my guest trainer with excellent accommodation. The restaurant food was lovely also. So congratulations on running such a good hospitality model when the current Covid situation makes that so much tougher.

Charlie and I had a grand time at the Culinary Series with Rippon Wines. I found the evening particularly enjoyable with a smaller and more manageable crowd. Alas many of us have reached the age where our hearing isn't what it used to be OR it is augmented so that "harsh sounds" like glasses clinking or cutlery hitting plates or high tones seem exaggerated. That's age, and I'm not complaining. I am simply complimenting you for enabling us to hear all the wonderful information about the food and wines to be heard.
Nick and Leslie are excellent ambassadors for his family's wines — informative yet casual and educational.

What a beautiful hotel. Both nights were great, but my room on the Friday night was even more stunning (7112) - I loved it so much I ended up just getting room service, relaxing and enjoying the views, and that fantastic spa bath. The staff were all exceptional too.
I had such a special time on the Hollyford, it's absolutely magical and I feel truly privileged to have experienced it.

Roman - thanks for being the one to introduce us to this vision of having our wedding here at The Rees. We loved how welcome you made us feel when talking to us. And the fact that Shantel's your cousin and you also knew my BFF Renate made it feel like there was a very special connection for me with this place from the start. Sorry we didn't really see you around much during the week, but I hope to someday run into you at some other happy occasion again.
Fiona - it truly felt like nothing was impossible for us with the wedding while we were in your hands. We couldn't have asked for a more lovely, cheerful and warm helper - and there were so many times you went above and beyond the call of duty. We also do apologise if a couple of the guests got a bit obnoxious after a few wines on the night though...I could see you were very patient with them. Personally I would love to one day be as physically strong as you and be able to lift heavy boxes of wine like they were nothing...!
All in all, we had a wonderful time and would be happy to recommend The Rees as a great wedding (and other event) venue in future.

We have nothing but praise for our experience at The Rees. After abandoning our original hotel after only one night, we popped in to The Rees to see
what was on offer. From the very start, Fenna took over. She took the time to show us several options, offered us free breakfasts and made sure our stay would be a peaceful and relaxing one, after our previous hotel. She had the knack of making us feel we were her only guests - obviously not the case! We also found out over the course of our stay, this is a team dynamic prevalent throughout the entire staff. Not easy to achieve!!
The next day, Fenna was responsible for organising complementary drinks at our vineyard lunch through a friend. Above and beyond!
We travel a lot and widely, and have family in Queenstown so have experienced a wide range of hotels. Through Fenna and the team we have never felt more looked after.
It is people on the team like her, that will not only ensure we are assured repeat clients, but also Rees advocates to our associates and friends.

The shuttle service is great.
The only negatives were the bed itself wasn’t the most comfortable and not good at limiting partner disturbance, if one rolled over the whole bed felt like it was rocking. We stayed in room 307-2 and every morning at around 5 or 6 am there would be a series of beeping that would last 5-10 minutes and woke me. The first morning I got up to try and find the source but wasn’t able to – I didn’t try the remaining three mornings as Daryll managed to sleep
through it and me hunting around was likely to wake him so I let him sleep. It sounded as though it was perhaps in the foyer area but I’m not sure.

I had friends staying at the Rees last week and felt I had to let you know they had nothing but praise to say.
These friends are quite well travelled and did not know we have an interest in the Rees.
Their comment was...they couldn’t fault the place.So a pat on the back to you and your staff.
