Reaching speeds of up to 80kmph (50mph), blaze through stunning glacial canyons on the world renowned Shotover Jet, or raft down ferocious rapids on your quest for the ultimate thrill seeking adventure.
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone, and you’re bound to find that here in Queenstown.
Vinnie Barre – Concierge – Below you will find my top pick of the many activities you’ll have the opportunity to try here;
AJ Hackett Bungy – With 3 bungees and 2 swings to choose from, you won’t be disappointed with what’s on offer. If you’re stuck on choice and don’t want to miss out why not try their Thrillogy Pack (all 3 bungees in one day!) The largest of the Bungy jumps is the Nevis where you’ll be dropping a whopping 134 meters – which when standing at the very edge is enough for even the bravest to question what brought them here. There is also the Kawarau Bridge which offers a 43 meter drop at the historic location where Bungy as we know it all started. The Ledge Bungy offers a 47 meter freestyle jump from right above Queenstown at the Skyline complex overlooking the stunning scenery of town, The Remarkables mountain range and Lake Wakatipu.
Queenstown Rafting – Take on the mighty Shotover River equipped with a paddle and join your fellow rafters tackling some of the most ferocious rapids in the area. You’ll be working as a team with a guide taking in some of the amazing scenery and witnessing first hand where gold miners spent most of their time in the early 1900s. To get there you can either take a trip on the notorious Skipper’s Canyon Road - New Zealand’s most dangerous road or whizz around the sharp turnings of the canyon via helicopter.
