Noosa Food & Wine Festival 2012
Our Executive Chef, Ben Batterbury of True South Dining Room is honoured to be the first New Zealand chef invited to participate as a special guest in the Noosa Food and Wine Festivalâ€™s new international program line-up, alongside a host of culinary greats.
Recognised as the premier food and wine event in Australia, the Festival boasts an influential guest list of overÂ 200 culinary experts, who converge on the Noosa Festival from May 17th â€“ 20th to taste, talk, debate, dine and indulge- all in the magical setting of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Ben will be amongst the world’s finest, including molecular gastronomist and â€˜Demon Chefâ€™, Alvin Leung of Bo Innovation, Hong Kong; Davide Scabin of Combal.Zero, Turin and others drawn from the prestigious S.Pellegrino Worldâ€™s Best Restaurant List.
Ben is to join forces with Australian chefs Jacques Reymond (Cuisine du Temps, Prahran, VIC), Ian Curley ( The European, VIC) and Eric Pernoud (Maison de Provence, Cooroy, QLD) to craft a French Country Picnic in the Lifestyle Lunch series as well as provide a cooking demonstration in the Festival Villageâ€™s Grand Marquee. The team will also make a starring appearance at a Guest Chef Dinner at Noosaâ€™s Blue Angel Restaurant, hosted by Head Chef, Michael Jakovljev.
Ben is a rising star across the Tasman and recent Premier Award winner in the Taste of New Zealand Awards. His craftmanship and passionate dedication for using fresh, local ingredients have piqued the palates of many discerning international media like the Huffington Post to the Beard Foundation, described by Time magazine as the home of the “Oscars of the Food World”.
