New Pier For The Rees Hotel Launches Convenient Water Taxi Service

The luxurious Rees Hotel in Queenstown has introduced a new water taxi service from its Pier that will provide guests with a convenient, fast and scenic transfer across the waters of Lake Wakatipu.

While some guests choose to drive the short distance to the centre of Queenstown, this new option by water taxi service will now enable them to soak up the local scenery during the ten minute trip.

The Pier brings other enjoyable benefits for guests which include; water transfers direct to Queenstown Golf Glub, easy access to jet boating on the Kawerau River and a new private fishing guide package to secret spots around the coves of the glacial lakefront.

“Being an absolute waterfront property, it made sense for us to fully utilise our strategic position on Lake Wakatipu. We’ve been delighted during the Rugby World Cup to officially open the Pier with an inaugural departure on a ‘Thunder Jet’ by the Classic French rugby greats,” says Chief Executive of The Rees Hotel, Mr Mark Rose.

The Rees Hotel water taxi currently operates daily from approximately 12pm – 10.30pm. The hotel uses both; Queenstown Water Taxis and Thunder Jet drivers. Guest departing for Queenstown centre disembark at Pier 19, near the water taxi stand on Earnslaw Park.
