I have replied to the booking web site that I used to secure our booking (Bookings.com) and advised them that we had a truly wonderful time at the Rees Hotel. Thanks for the email. We had a fantastic time at the Rees it was the best accommodation by far that we stayed in on our holiday (we also stayed in an apartment in Melbourne, Australia and Peppers in Christchurch). We loved the layout of the two bedroom apartment and the interior design.

We found your staff really friendly and helpful. On the first night our 11 year old son had a bad case of gastro (probably caught off the plane over). Your housekeeping staff were fantastic in doing a quick clean-up as were all bleary eyed from being up all night and providing us with extra towels.

We’ve already decided we will always go back to the Rees when in Queenstown.

We were both extremely impressed with the high standard of the accommodation at the Rees and especially so with the service we received from every member of staff we interacted with. From arranging options for us when we expressed the preference for a bath in our room through to restaurant service and concierge advice on Queenstown activities, we always felt we were receiving nothing less than the best that each person could offer. I would also like to specifically praise your staff on resolving a technical issue with our room television without fuss and with maximum efficiency.
One final thing occurs to us however – even after arriving home, we have fond memories of the guest robes provided at the Rees. As odd a request as this is, we were wondering if it was possible to purchase a couple of them for ourselves at this late stage? I understand that traditionally, guests simply slip them into their luggage and have them added to the bill, but we didn’t realise what we had until it was gone.
I appreciate your thoughtfulness, and am happy to be able to give such good feedback on our stay.

Our stay was in room 613, and I must say that I personally had the best sleep I have had in some years in that bed. I slept in the king bed in the room beside the lounge. I have been suffering with neck and shoulder problems for some months and have been considering purchasing a new bed and trying all sorts of pillows without much success.

Are you able to let me know the brand and name of the bed and the pillow on the bed, I mean’t to have a look before we left but amongst the excitement I forgot.

Hope you are able to help me out with one, it would really be much appreciated.

Our group had a wonderful time at the Rees in Queenstown and the property was fantastic. I was very impressed with the staff, they were friendly and very helpful.
When we arrived around 9am our rooms were ready, so that was fantastic knowing check in time isn’t till much later. Everyone in the group enjoyed the weekend and very impressed with the 3brm apartments and facilities – can’t fault anything.

We stayed for 5 nights and it’s the only time I have left a review of anywhere we have stayed.
From the moment we arrived to when we left I can honestly say everything was perfect.
The rooms are exceptional, the cleaning staff very humorous and did great job. We dined in and can rate your restaurant with the best eateries in Auckland.
I looked at most of the places available in Queenstown and after arriving and sighting many we definitely made the right choice.

I would also like to let you know what a lovely time we had staying in our apartment at The Rees for our first time. (I think you were away but we did meet Shona.) The hotel, our apartment and ALL the staff were just great. Our apartment layout is just brilliant. The uninterrupted views from all the windows are amazing and with having a full bathroom with each bedroom was just so convenient when we had our guests. Our guests in our upstairs “hotel room” are still going on about the fabulous bathroom looking directly over the lake to the mountains. They could not bring themselves to closing the blinds. I cannot emphasise enough just how lovely we think the property is. 

We travel extensively with our work and we honestly  would rank “The Rees” as one of the nicest property’s with the most amazing views, that we have ever stayed in. We are very lucky to be owners of what we consider the best apartment in the complex.

All of your staff were fantastic – so helpful and extremely good at their jobs from the concierge staff to your cleaners! We were part of the “Over the Top”, Cecil Peak gig on Friday and were lucky enough to be booked to stay with you.
The apartments are stunning, both my husband and I travel a lot, and our room was impeccably clean and comfortable, absolutely fantastic!
We had breakfast in the dining room and the staff were friendly and fast. Check in and out was also trouble free and the concierge helped us by booking us dinner on Saturday at the Botswana Butchery.

Our room well orientated with a stunning view was unique and very comfortable. The hotel’s location is a good advantage, not far from downtown, and very pleasant to use the Frankton walkway to get in Queenstown.

The people in True South kitchen are absolutely terrific and could compete with French Chefs, the menus are excellent as well as NZ wines, very good cellar, congratulations to the chef and the staff. Great thanks also to Sylvia for her efficiency and her good mood.

We had a truly fabulous experience in Queenstown and found Rees to be exactly right for us.  The accommodation was superb with a lovely view of the lake and the Remarkables.  The food in the dining room was of really high international quality – imaginaively presented and superbly cooked.

All the service at every level was simply excellent and friendly and I would specially note the extremely helpful and friendly service of Steve Hanrahan at every stage as we booked and arranged fishing and other activities. He is a real gem!

We had a very enjoyable stay. Room 511 was lovely, with the bathroom and views particularly appealing.
Of special note is the breakfast. It is certainly the best quality breakfast we’ve had at a New Zealand hotel.
The quality of the breakfast, the choice, and the service provided by Lin (our breakfast server) was excellent.
 It is certainly a revelation for hotels within that price range in Queenstown.

“….The exceptional component however from our stay at the Rees, was the hospitality and premium service provided by the staff.  There was nothing to want for that had not or could not be supplied. It is clear they take pride in their employment. They were bright, bubbly and warm, and made informed suggestions on any of our queries. They made us feel extremely welcome at all times, and nothing was too difficult for them to assist us with.  I had even run into the concierge, Steve, when he was off duty, when I was out and about.  Well actually I didn’t see him, he saw me, and made an effort to go out of his way to come over and talk with me….  This is just typical of his and all of the hotel staffs’ treatment of us.  All of our tourist activities were enjoyable.  They were efficiently organised by the concierge, who provided first-hand knowledge and advice and they were all conveniently charged back to our room. We would like to say that we are extremely fussy people and usually stay at the Versace and alike being one of the best hotels we have stayed at along with the Hilton suites at Fiji.

The Rees I must say is in my opinion as good if not better in its makeup of the attention to detail of the amenities and the aesthetics of the whole feel to the room and the Hotel itself.

The staff were extremely helpful and I think that the Hotel deserves any award category it would choose to enter.

We apologise that it has taken so long in writing this, but we wish to pass on thanks to you and your staff for the great service we received when we stayed at your hotel in March.

On our arrival we were welcomed by Steve, your Concierge, who was ready to go out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. The food over the five days was of excellent quality, and the service was outstanding. Particular mention should be made of your Maitre’d, (we think her name is Sylvia – an Austrian woman) who was very helpful and informative on our last night, when we enjoyed your Tasting Menu, along with wine tasting. She managed to amend the menu on offer, as she remembered there were some dishes which we had experienced on the previous evening.

We enjoyed our stay immensely – particularly as we had managed to leave our children at home with their Nana, and had the rare experience of husband and wife alone for a few days. What better place to spend it! We will recommend your hotel to friends.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at The Rees as part of our honeymoon. The room was superb and extremely comfortable. Obviously the view was exceptional and such a wonderful way to wake up in the morning. All of our encounters with your staff were very friendly and helpful. One of your concierge’s (sorry cant remember his name) met us in the carpark at the start of our stay and helped us wih our luggage and showed us to our room. This was a lovely introduction to your hotel and quite unexpected. The breakfast were beautiful and it was very nice having it freshly cooked as we have had our far share of bad buffet breakfasts! On the day we went on the milford sound tour we asked if it was possible to have a breakfast to take away. This was done without hassel and far better than we expected.  

We would both definately recommend the Rees to anyone visiting Queenstown. I was a regular on the Queenstown trip advisor forum before our trip and I will definately be writing a post recommended The Rees.

We loved our stay and the room!

When we asked for new towels they brought us plenty not just two!  We loved the silver pen!!!!!  Loved the note on the TV welcoming us!  My husband thought the idea of under heating for the parking ramp was brilliant.

A very special thank you to Kayla at reception.  Kayla went over and above to make our stay special.  I would ring Kayla for directions from
Queenstown or where ever we were at the time and she would deliver.  Kayla organised taxis and transport to and from the snow.  She is a gem.

Steve on the concierge desk knows his products and sells them very well.  We will definitely be coming back to The Rees.

The cleaning staff were lovely and friendly – if we happened to be there at the time they were not intrusive.

In total a wonderful stay in a beautiful town. I will recommend your hotel to colleagues and clients with confidence.

From the views to the immaculate, well appointed room, the helpful staff and wonderful food there is not one area with which to find a single fault.

I would and will highly recommend you to anyone travelling to Queenstown. In fact, they would be silly to stay anywhere else!

I recently vacated with my partner (of 11yrs) to Queenstown with plans to propose and get engaged.
Steve was an absolute luxury to have as a logistics wingman! He helped transform my plans it into a real experience rather than me transform into a troll-doll!
Steve was nothing short of spectacular, from his hospitality to his sharp smarts he proved to be quite a valuable asset during our stay @ The Rees.

We stayed 3 nights at the Rees, the 3rd night was separate from the first 2, in which we stayed in the Executive suite, and had the Relaxation package. It was absolutely fantastic as this was our honeymoon.  I cannot recommend your hotel enough. The rooms were amazing, so clean and modern yet stylish. We appreciated all the small extras,  that made us feel very special.  The service was fantastic, we dealt with Morgan when we were booking activities, and she was a gem. Extremely helpful, and thoughtful, even when at times our requests may have been a little stressing.

If, and when we return to Queenstown, we will be sure to use the hotel again, and recommending it to our friends and family.

We loved our stay at The Rees, definitely the best accommodation we experienced during our 3 week hols in North & South Island. Our room overlooking Wakatipu and The Remarkables was beautiful and extremely comfortable to relax in, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job every day.When we managed to haul ourselves out of the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in we had great breakfasts and were well attended to by the dining room staff who were probably the most willing and happy we have met for a good while!
To anyone reading this feedback in order to help them decide whether to stay at The Rees- we had originally booked for 4 nights but were so impressed with the quality of the decor and furnishings and the wonderful level of service that we stayed for a further 4 nights! We came to regard the tui bird outside our balcony every morning as a close friend and felt very hard of leaving when our time was up.
Thanks again to you Michael for your unfailing and generous help given each time we had a question or needed something-  you must be proud to work as part of a jolly good team in such a wonderful hotel that looks after its guests with such a warm professionalism.

Your staff are a credit to your business, very courteous and attentive.

The breakfast was excellent – I was so impressed with the quality, I took the time to thank the chef personally and also the waitress who was perfect with her level of service.

The room was extremely comfortable and very clean which is something very important to me. The only point I would make here is the cleaners looking to clean the room at 10.10am, very enthusiastic, but a little early!

Well what can I say – there are no words to describe how WONDERFUL your staff and hotel were.

The reason I chose the Ress was the response I received from Kristie some months back.

I emailed several 5 star hotels  requesting some guidance / advice about what could be offered to help celebrate an 80th surprise birthday holiday I was organising for my partner.

Kristie was the only person to reply to my request…..hence our email friendship began and because of her I rearranged my initial itinerary to stay longer at the Ress (an extra two nights)

We can not speak highly enough about the Ress.  Its location, cleanliness and little extras in the room, remote blinds (although being a little darker would have been nice for a late sleep in).

The highest praise does have to go Kristie, she made our stay the most memorable holiday we have ever had and the most talked about part of our trip.  (we now have very very envious friends!)

My partner has travelled the world several times over – staying at Waldorf Astoria and other perceived first class establishments, and has NEVER encountered someone as genuine and friendly as Kristie.

She made us feel like VIP’s – that we were the only people in the hotel.

We shed a tear (in the car so she couldn’t see) the day we left, feeling like we were leaving our best friend behind.

Her friendship, kindness, bright bubbly personality and willing to help was absolutely overwhelming.

Kristie went well and truly beyond “her job”

Even as much as arranging a mechanic to fix our hire car brake light, suggesting and booking a long lunch, helicopter flights, and lots of other little “treats” along the way, making sure our room heater would be fixed before our return.

Upon our check in “the boys” (as we affectionately called them) Roman and Michael were so pleased to finally meet us, as Kristie had called them several times on her DAY OFF to ensure the balloons, cake, cheese platter I had asked for were in the room waiting to surprise my partner.

Very few people I know would do that on their day off.

Michael eagerly assisted us with our bags, gave us a room tour – showing us how all the little gadgets worked, and coming back to fix our bedroom TV.

Roman was a wealth of knowledge at the brochure wall, full of enthusiasm about different tours he thought we would like.

You have an asset in Kristie that you can not place a price on – I sincerely advise you to value and treasure her – I run my own business and know how hard it is to find staff like her as well as Roman and Michael. 

We are already planning our next trip to the Rees, hopefully sooner rather than later.

I already have an aunt and Uncle who want to book their 60th & 70th in a few years time, with Kristie!!!!

So to say I / we were happy is an understatement……and I guess it looks like I did find the words after all

We had the most fantastic night on Sat!!! EVERYONE raved about the food and the venue, it was a great idea to come and celebrate at the Rees! Ben did an amazing job, and I noticed the plates were nearly licked clean after each course…..and Sonija looked after us all so well, she was always on hand.

Thank you so much for suggesting the idea/menu and the apartment – it was lovely to have everyone together and be able to see each other throughout the meal, the Apartment was just perfect…one of the conversations around the table on the night was about whose Bday it was in the summer, so we could all come back and have a summer dinner with the patio doors open!!!

I will write a proper note to Ben and drop in a little something for him and Sonya when I come in to pay you – talking of which, please let me know what I owe you.
