Cardrona Alpine Resort
Cardrona is New Zealand's fun and family friendly ski resort with the most reliable snow conditions in the region. Its high elevation and southerly aspect mean dry natural snow is plentiful, which is further enhanced by snow making facilities. Cardrona is the perfect place for beginners and intermediates, with NZ's only combined gondola chairlift, easy-to-use surface lifts, specialised beginner packages and plenty of wide open trails spread over three basins. Boasting six distinctly different cafes, fully licensed kid's centres, on-mountain accommodation, retail; ski, snowboard and telemark lessons; and a fully equipped rental department, Cardrona is pure gold and a Rees favourite!
Adored by locals, Coronet Peak’s easily accessible roller coaster terrain and excellent facilities make it the winter playground in New Zealand’s adventure capital.
With The Peak’s 280 hectares of skiable area, snow sports centre, kids’ programmes, rental department and retail offerings, there is something for everyone. Earlybirds and night owls are welcome as First Tracks starts at 8am and on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays we finish late with Night Skiing, a truly magical experience for all ages. Accessible by 18km sealed road just 25 minutes from central Queenstown makes it so easy.
The famous Remarkables mountain range is about fun, families and freestyle, all an easy 40 minute drive from downtown Queenstown. What’s not to love about three sun-drenched, north-facing snow-filled bowls perfectly formed to cater for everyone from absolute beginners to powderhounds.
This location and elevation also attracts fantastic natural snow, supported by the firepower of over 100 snow guns to keep trails across the 385 ha skiable terrain topped up nicely.
A visit to Queenstown isn’t complete without skiing Coronet Peak and sister mountain The Remarkables. So for the best value for money, we recommend buying a multi-day pass which provides access to both mountains to get the full experience and have an epic winter holiday.
Treble Cone Ski Area
Treble Cone offers a real New Zealand snow experience. Long uncrowded slopes, legendary off piste terrain and unrivaled views. This expansive mountain has the longest vertical rise in the Southern Lakes with far reaching boundaries spread over two large basins. Treble Cone is a mountain that welcomes all snow lovers, no matter what level or age you are when stepping onto the mountain.
