Thank you so very much for making our event in Queenstown the roaring success it was. My group of Air New Zealand Elite Priority One members were blown away by the hotel. The rooms were perfect, fabulous views and they have said the staff were amazing. I know the guests who didnât stay on past Friday were a bit disappointed that they hadnât decided to extend their stay. I feel next year this may definitely turn into 2 night event, more particularly because they were exhausted by one full day in Queenstown.
Luba on a personal note- thank you so much for taking great care of me, and âholding my handâ through the last few months. Being my first major event, and complicated by the inclusion of our top customers and my CEO, I very much appreciated the extra attention to details.

No-it is your team who did a magnificent job.
Luba has been a godsend, sheâs so onto everything, even after all my last minute changes and amendments, she was completely on top of the flow and who goes where/ when- the room charges etcâŠ
All of the staff did a great job helping me get this running smoothly. I donât believe I can fault even one thing.
Luba & Alistair were an awesome team, I get the feeling theyâre old hands at these types of groups. The bar staff, restaurant and housekeeping staff likewise â fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble.
My guests all had a wonderful stay and commented how fabulous The Rees is. I think the early leavers really wished they were staying on. – Itâs a real undiscovered gem, and hopefully this will have exposed it to some pretty influential people just a little more.

“Over the course of the Welcome function on the Tuesday night two of your staff, Sabrina and Sarah wove their magic on my delegates and charmed everyone, including myself.Â The food was fantastic and everyone had a wonderful night, it was a great way to start the conference.
The next few days proved that it wasnât a one-off as both Sabrina and Sarah were consistently polite, charming and very efficient to all my delegates (even in the wee small hours of the morning in the bar).Â They are a credit to the Rees and an example of staff that hotels should aspire to have available for events work.
P.S.Â I think almost every delegate mentioned to me how comfortable the beds were!

From the moment we arrived to the (sad) moment when we left, we were made to feel like the most important and special guests youâve ever had! Our wedding day and the days leading up to it were the most incredible, memorable and surreal moments of our lives thus far. It was made so by your incredible staff and the efforts they all went to, ensuring our stay truly was perfect. The little touches of lollies in our room on arrival, the bubbles on our wedding night, being allocated the most amazing apartment with the most breathtaking views, the greeting stand at reception, the fact that everyone seemed to know who we were and why we were there, right from the moment we arrived, nothing was a problem, you all went above and beyond and the little things you did were certainly noticed by us and our other guests who stayed with us or in other rooms at the Rees. The day itself happened like clockwork, in terms of all the people/vendors that needed access to our room, it all just happened and flowed effortlesslyâŠâŠâŠâŠ..being in the industry myself, I know how easy it is for things to go awry, (particularly with a bride on her wedding day, the stakes are high!) and the fact that nothing at all did go wrong is testament to the way your hotel operates and the importance it clearly places on ensuring every guest is looked after to an incredibly high standard.
My partner and I have stayed in many hotels over the years and although the Rees do have incredibly exquisite apartments and interior furnishings (the inside of the apartments really are simply stunning), it is the people and the service that make this hotel stand out miles above the rest. All of our other guests that stayed at the Rees had similar things to say about the service I can assure you J. We will definitely be returning soon, in fact the next time we visit Queenstown, we now cannot imagine staying anywhere else to be honest!

I just want to drop you a note to say thank you for the taking such a great care of the three international journalists Air New Zealand had staying at The Rees over the weekend. I understand you also were kind enough to host the two American journalists who arrived earlier to dinner at True South on their first night in Queenstown. All three journalists were genuinely impressed with the hotelâs lake side location and rooms (how could you not be?).
I was also there over the weekend to attend the Air New Zealand Wine Awards on Saturday night â thanks for putting on such stunning weather for that event! This was my second stay for business in recent months (I was also there for the Air NZâs same sex marriage flight) and my own experience is that the service at The Rees is consistently good, with the right mix of warmth and professionalism.
As with airlines, I imagine hotel customers often only communicate when they have a complaint â so I just wanted to take the time to give credit where credit is absolutely due â The Rees is a classy act!

I have only managed to speak with a few staff at this stage (our GM is still enjoying your hospitality at this time) and the feedback has been nothing short of exceptional.
I have heard many stories regarding your efforts to go beyond the call of duty, including your appearance at the airport to return a remote control for our projector! On the one occasion when our Marketing Manager did experience a minor difficulty with a member of staff from the Rees, it was handled swiftly and professionally by you and your team.
The quality of the accommodation, food, hospitality and conference facilities was first class. It’s nice to see that a company website can actually live up to its claims and representations. Likewise, the other companies you recommended were also of equal calibre, with the bus driver and SnoPro earning special mentions. Rata also was a massive hit with the staff.
Your coordination of all activities, transfers, restaurant bookings, ski hire etc. made my job so much easier, especially considering our lack of knowledge regarding Queenstown. Having a local who understood and anticipated our requirements was an enormous help.
Hopefully we will have the luxury of dealing with The Rees in the future. We will certainly be recommending your hotel and facilities to the rest of the LVMH Group, customers and friends.
