Financial Controller (part time, approximately 20 hours per week) competitive salary package.
The Rees Hotel and Luxury Apartments is a multi-award winning five star Qualmark rated property, located in Queenstown. Comprising 60 Hotel rooms and 90 luxury apartments, the Rees prides itself on providing a supreme guest experience. Due to significant growth in our business we are now seeking a Financial Controller to join our team of dedicated professionals.

Position Profile
Reporting to the CEO, your duties will include:
Preparation of monthly and annual consolidated and statutory financial statements.
Managing and preparing budgets and forecasts.
Responsible for all accounting systems, including treasury management.
Preparation and filing all income tax, GST and other returns required by the Inland Revenue Department.
Providing company secretarial services including dealing with all insurance issues, and supporting board and body corporate meetings and related governance and compliance processes..
Preparation of capital expenditure and feasibility analysis proposals for board review
Managing payroll and financial administration staff.
Managing and reporting on financial matters to operational staff to maximise operational efficiencies and productivity.
Assisting with sales relationships including design of sales contracts, including pricing.
Ensuring adequate financial internal control systems and risk management procedures are in place.

Skills and Experience
New Zealand Chartered Accountant or equivalent preferred
Proven business accounting experience in a leadership role
Experience in process improvement and systems integration
Previous hotel accounting experience, and/or knowledge of body corp structures advantageous

Purpose of Position
The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication skills and is impeccably groomed. As the first point of contact for the hotel you will be customer service driven and enjoy exceeding customers’ expectations. You will be proactive with a vivacious and professional approach to guest services. You will conduct check ins and check outs efficiently, whilst maintaining strict confidentiality procedures. You will provide accurate and correct information on products and services as requested by guests and business associates.

Skills and Experience
Have previous front office experience in high-quality properties
Accuracy and an “eye for detail”
Passionate about “Customer Service/Care”
Ability to multi-task in a busy hotel
Be able to work autonomously with excellent time management skills
Have strong initiative and ability to think outside the square
Superior verbal and written communication skills
A second language will be highly desirable
Excellent computer skills and experience with PMS (Preferably CMS Guest Centrix)
Available to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
